Question about USB interface (Option 6FL)
Looks like it's in the center console. Can you still close the cover if you have a USB flash drive inserted?

probably, but just in case i'd get one of these badboys for your car music, and get like a 32gb for regular use. xD
REALLY mini thumb drive http://www.amazon.com/PNY-Swivel-Att...7239188&sr=8-1 Edit: And by small, I mean it's smaller than my SD card. |

The DataTraveller fits fine, thats what i have.
If you have a bigger/taller one, just get a USB extension wire..

When I ran a USB drive in my 6FL, I used a 1' USB extension cable shown here:

The solution is supposed to be reprogramming the car.

I did the same - that USB port is in the most awkward possible spot. I found I could not readily swap drives while sitting in the seat. The extension cable makes it much, much easier.
Much as I love the way BMWs drive, sometimes they don't think about these little details nearly enough. Would have made FAR more sense to put the usb port at the front of the console. This location was obviously decided on by the same beer-swilling engineer who located the front power point above the passengers left foot. Probably the same guy who decided on the fuse box location too.
