UPDATE on 335D DEMO car issues

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to give an update to my whole ordeal that i've been dealing with regarding my 335D. I absolutely loved the car when i bought it as a demo car(executive). I thought it was just used in car shows or something... It had been flogged to death! First my ABS and DTC went out and then a suspension bolt came out while i was driving, thankfully i didn't get in a wreck! You can read all that below:

I appreciated all the help from everyone on here and i especially wanted to give a shout out to CEB, KCGMAN and a few others who suggested that i get legal advise and/or an attorney. Needless to say i obtained some help and yesterday the dealership finally bought back my car and towed it back to the dealership. the day before they took it back, my ABS and DTC crapped out again! I had it!

I now have a JBD chip and BT Cable sitting at my house without a car. I'm just trying to get rid of them for only $300

I remember your post, glad you got it resolved. If you ever get a DEMO car again, make sure it's not after a major revision ie the introduction of a diesel engine, a new body style, or an LCI update.

"Executive" demo. Ha ha. What a crock of shit. I tested an "executive demo" M3 with 4K miles on it. Clutch was virtually worn out!

Don't believe what they tell you!

I learned my lesson with "executive demos" after purchasing a 2001 325i with 4,200 miles as a new vehicle (never titled) only to find the full size spare beat to living hell when I had a flat about 4 days after I got the car.

The spare, which I'm presuming was the original wheel and replaced with the actual spare, was bent, had curb rash on 100% of the rim and had massive wear on the sidewall - it was clear something happened. I immediately took the car to a local mechanic that informed me that several of the front suspension parts needed replacing due to a high-impact incident to the front driver-side wheel. After much negotiation, I was allowed to trade into a new 325i with a minimal increased cost.

While I'm sure that some demo units come from the local dealer, I learned that most of these units are purchased via a dealer-exclusive auction process that includes demos from all over the country. As such, it's very likely that your local dealer really has no idea what the cars actual history was. For example, I was told that my car was driven by a local sales manager but I later found out that the car was bought after the demo period from a dealership in California.

Glad you got it worked out!

I purchased one too. Had it CPO'd as well. Not sure if the laws are different here in Canada. 2010 335xi with 13,000kms. I've requested the service history as well as the CPO inspection documents today after reading the OP's story.... Now I'm worried.
