Replacing valve cover gasket
I will be replacing the valve cover gasket sometimes next week, is there anything else I should do while I am there besides VCG and spark plugs?

Check for broken head bolts
Check for broken head bolts
You might want to get a set as the are once use aluminum and need to be torqued to a very specific low number . Got a torque wrench and some easy outs? There are many threads on head bolt breakage |

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger
