Replacing valve cover gasket

I will be replacing the valve cover gasket sometimes next week, is there anything else I should do while I am there besides VCG and spark plugs?

Check for broken head bolts

Check for broken head bolts

You might want to get a set as the are once use aluminum and need to be torqued to a very specific low number . Got a torque wrench and some easy outs?

There are many threads on head bolt breakage

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger
