Hello Everybody!

I have been roaming around all bmw forum sites for about a year and finally joined one. So I've been reading and learning a lot about how to carefully choose a staggered and square setup for an xdrive. I'm planning to buy within this month for new shoes. I just need to verify, confirm, or get a second opinion on the size I opt of doing (keep in mind, I don't want to lower the car but still minimize wheel gap)
I'm not worried too much about upsizing the rims and tires, bec. according to some threads it will correct some discrepancies (correct me if I'm wrong). For added info, I have a 328 coupe.

Set-up choice 1:
Front: 225/45/18
Rear: 255/40/18
*slightly skeptical on the rear ones, bec. it might actually be bigger than i intend it to be!?

Set-up choice 2:
Front and Rear: 225/45/18

Hi,

Welcome to the forum!

If you plan on going for a staggered fitment, I would recommend downsizing the sidewalls. The sizes you have above are tall and can cause some rubbing issues in addition to throwing your speedo and odometer off.

I would recommend a 225/40/18 front and a 255/35/18 rear for the proper rolling diameter.

Should 225/40/18 and 255/35/18, or 225/40/18 all around.

Welcome.

Tnx. At this point I'm going to do a square setup. But, I'm going to do 225/45/18. Eventhough the rolling diameter will not be the same as OEM, I really want to minimize the wheel gap without lowering. The roads in the east coast isn't worth the hassle. Is there any deals or soon on vmr?
But thanks for the input.
