Cool pre or post lci push start button??

which is better?

as i have a spare lci one that i am thinking putting on my pre lci e90??

Am I missing something here?
the button is identical, but the LCI has this cheap plastic surround as opposed to the nice metal one for the older cars...

Btw BMW kindly tells us in the brochures for both pre and post lci, that the button allows you to START or STOP the engine. Complete with pic.
