Hiya guy's,
I'am a new member to the site and i joined because i was looking to buy a e92 325i se coupe 2007 model. I just need some info on this model i have two option there's one that has 59,000 miles on the clock, four owners and it's a M sport. Has had all it's service's done by BMW but the last service has been done by a bmw specialist.
The second option is 18,500 miles on the clock with 3 owners and it's a SE. It has had it's first service with Autovogue.

The difference in price is £3000, but both bmw's have autovougue conversion's.

-So i just wanted to know which car i should go for. Is 69,000 too much on the clock for bmw?

-What's difference between a se model and a m sport in the 3 series?

-Does any one have a Autovogue bmw or know anyone with and are they worth the extra money?

-What would you value these two car's at ?

4 owners in 3 years, that would put me off completely.

The Msport has a different front and rear bodykit, 18" wheels, sports seats, different steering wheel and black roof lining along with chrome trim deletion. Also you get a load of Msport badges stuck around the interior.

Mileage question is a hard one, lower is always better but its hard to put a value on how much value it adds. Personally I would take a lower spec car with less miles.

Can't help you with the autovogue cars as don't know much about them but both of these cars have had a lot of owners in a short space of time. And to have 3 owners in 18.5k would make me wonder why.

The 3rd owner claim's it's only used as a 3rd car, don't know how true this is. But i will have to check it over thoroughly before i intend to buy it.

I like the Autovougue kits but the wheel choice is crutial, often I see AV'd 3's with the most ill suited wheels and its makes the kit look poor. For example (I'm about to offend some peoples choices I'm sure) I dislike those 20 AV-R's, think If I brought a motor from there I'd ask them reduce the price and supply with standards, then replace them myself

I wouldn't touch either from the sounds of it.

I reckon they will have picked up the former M-Sport one for about 50p at an Auction, it will be wankered.

The other, well be honest with yourself... Unless you're going to keep it for a VERY long time, consider if you will ever resell it?

Both cars are bad, bad business. Walk away, buy a £10-12k SE with decent miles, FSH and caring private owners.

If you love Autovogue so much, pay them to modify it to your taste with the difference you save. I'm confident one quick call to them will get you a discount of list right away, plus you can choose wheels that are both made in a quality factory (instead of the shit they use) and about a quarter of the price.

I never quite 'get' autovogue.

They charge a fortune for cars that look cheap.

They are certainly unique (apart from any other AV car of course), thank goodness!

But each to their own.

Agree - the history seems too dodgy, but give them a ring, they're probably desparate to shift em.

Most of Autovogue conversions use cheap 'Auction Fodder' cars - low spec, high miles, poor history, whatever - the type of cars that can't make it as an AUC car.

I pass the place many times and the cars from a distance all look good quality, especially when there is a whole yard full of them. It is when you look closely things don't look so good. The kits often look poorly fitted & the paint finish is nearly always a different shade to the rest of the car. I do however quite like the overall look of the car with the kit fitted and are certainly distinctive.

The wheels can be sourced on ebay for very little money and most of them have part worn tyres fitted instead of new ones. This kind of cost cutting to me highlights what the cars really are.

I owned an Autovogue 3 series many years ago. Ill fitted cheap springs gave a sh!te ride and had to be swapped. Body kit started to crack after a few months as the quality was poor and the paintwork chipped very easily and was nowhere near as tough as the factory paint, prob had not been baked?

I see many conversions knocking around Stafford, mainly Audi A4's with bits of mesh covering unused exhaust outlets.

I would never consider buying an Autovogue car again.

Paul - I just thought - Didn't AV used to be in that yard off Marston Road, at the back of the Rangers ground?

I used to live on Peter James Court (1995-2001) and we backed on to their spray shop that 'appeared' - noisy b'stards working all weekends (without planning permission for the 'tool shed' they turned into a full monty oven & spray shop - with more chimneys than than coronation street which actually set fire to tree branches overhead).

They tried to get retrospective planning permission (including phoning us up to try and 'convince' us), but had no chance really. A few of us had to get Environmental Health involved - a noise / pollution survey in 2001 got the spray shop closed down.


Maybe this incident reflects AV's attitude in general?

That's really put me off them, using part worn tire's is really bad practice for the professional look they try to impersonate.

Would it make any difference if i was to buy a AV car privately if i can get for a bargain price? Instead of being ripped off by AV.

Yes, that's correct - they were based in that yard, opposite Stafford Tyres. That is when I had a car off them. It was pretty much a one man band then with Stuart doing most of the work. I think one of the lads from 'The Body Shop' used to come and do the spraying at weekends/after work. I had a 318i off them at the time and it was in white so the paint colour match was pretty good but my mate had a metallic blue 325i off them and the colour match was miles off!

I kept the car for a year and had no real issues with it as such once the crappy springs were swapped for decent progressive ones. It was a real head turner at the time and the 15" TSW Stealth's looked great on it ha ha. It was just as the months passed by the 'bolted on' bits became quickly shabby which goes to show the quality of the parts. Stones would chip the fibre glass valance and the painted front bumper looked about 10yrs old after 12 months lol

I did hear about the issues with Peter James court to be honest, and explains why they moved! The current premises (next to the 'tip) are very nice and defo look the part with some very smart looking stock out the front.
