New BMW owner in Europe

Hi Everyone,

I got my first BMW back in November 2010. A 325i Coupe. I have lusted after this car since it first appeared, and now I finally own one. And what a car! OK, I know it does not have the power that most of you guys have, with your 335i's, but hey, I would have got got that but basically I got the best I could afford. And I am loving it.

I just wanted to say thanks to you all, because anytime I had a question I just googled it, and mostly the answers came up from e90post.com. So I thought it was only polite to join the forum :-)

Cheers y'all!!
Frank

Congrats and don't worry about the power. Yours is already powerful enough for getting any speed ticket you wish!

Congrats, Frank! Sweet ride. There are plenty people here who aren't mod crazy, but if you ever catch the bug (I haven't), there's not a better place to go!

Congratz Frank, looks like i won't be the only European here then! (Sweden). I have the pre-lci version, i'm wondering about your lighting button, you don't have a "auto" mode? Is this a button that only comes with xenon? I'm pretty sure i had it on my halogen E90... might be something country specifc i dunno...

Anyways welcome!! =)

Thanks all!

@XieJin - I don't have the auto lights control, that's an option here (Switzerland).

Loving this car, alway looking for an excuse to drive it!

Haha no worries, i haven't seen a single bimmer here in sweden that doesn't have the rear PDC ^^

Oh and i hear ya about finding any reasons to drive it.

Yesterday i took a 40min drive to the furthest away food shop in my town haha, just to drive it. I didn't even really need to shop so i just bought some bacon and some chicken filé as not to make my girl suspicious lol!!

Welcome to the club Frank and enjoy driving your new car, it looks great
As for driving the car for no reason.........i would say that 80% of the miles on my car have been 'just for the fun of it' with no destination in mind - many a time i have been sat watching TV at 1am and just noticed the car keys on the table and decided to.........

There is no need to be rude............ the price you paid for your 325i in the US would not be enough to buy you even a base 1 series in Switzerland.

love the car, and that color really pops in the sun, very nice.

whats the red thingie in your rear wheel?

if you want to make the best bang/buck mod, put this shift knob on the car, with the horter knob height and heavier weight, it totally transformed the feel of the shift for me:

That's a plastic cover for the snow-chains mounting - there is a kind of bolt that you screw onto one of the wheel nuts, and the chains have a clip that goes onto it. I'm not explaining this very well - check this video http://specials.bmw.ch/accessories/w...ketten_de.html

Haven't used the chains yet, but I did have trouble getting up the hill to my appartment when we had a lot of snow before Christmas, even with winter tyres

I love the cloth seats, I wish they were available in the US. I've never been a big fan of leather.
