New Doom Buggy! (2011 E91 M-Sport)
So, it all started here:
Brand new E90 330i, picked it up Summer of '05. Bought this car for my wife at the time. Test driving sealed the deal... we were comparing against the Acura TL and Infiniti G35. We loved the cockpit-like interior of the TL, but the drive "feel" was not even close to the BMW. The G35 was just garbage. It was plenty quick, but the interior felt cheap and cramped. BMW, hands down! Even though it was technically "her" car, I did most of the weekend driving. Loved it! Long story short... got divorced in '07, and lost this car in "The War". She actually offered it back to me a year later, but a sedan wouldn't cut it for me since I am a guitar player and need to be able to haul around a 4x12 cabinet at times. I didn't give much thought to the wagon version... M-Sport wasn't offered at the time, and of course having a lesser motor. In the mean time, I ended up slogging 103,000 miles in this: Dream Cruiser series 2, also purchased new in '03. Yeah I know... but it served me quite well as a gear hauler. At over 100k miles, however, it was waaay past due for a replacement. The 3 series wagon was now more appealing to me... with the M-Sport package transporting it from "granny mobile" to "monster wagon". It still chaps my @$$ that you can't get it in 335i flavor here. I was almost swayed by the new X3 with that 300hp motor. But the front end is too "cheeky" for my liking without M-Sport, and I couldn't wait past Q2 for that. I also loathe SUVs in general, and want no part in contributing to the fat asses that consume parking lots everywhere. SO... I decided to be a rebel and go with the last model year 3 series wagon available in the states! After doing all my negotiating online between 3 dealerships, I ended up going with BMW Seattle. Showed up at the dealer and placed my order on Oct. 7, and received my production number the next day. However, it took over a month to enter production! So here's the timeline: Production completed: Nov. 17 Left Bremehaven: Nov. 26 Arrived Port Hueneme: Dec. 21 And then, more frustration. Having placed my order in early October, I fully expected an early X-Mess present. Not to be. Would it even arrive before the New Year?? NOPE. Finally got word from my CA... I *might* be able to take delivery New Year's Day, and they would allow me to complete the paperwork on 12/31 so I could write off the 9.5% (!) sales tax for 2010. So on NYE, I signed off the title on my trade, and made my down payment in full. I filled out a borrower's slip so I could drive the PT Wagon (no longer mine) home. At this point, the wait is getting rather agonizing. And THEN, my CA calls NYD afternoon: The carrier truck BROKE DOWN in Southern Oregon. NO CAR. GAH!!! So I languished in car limbo HELL until last Wedesday, Jan. 5th. FINALLY... here it is! And SO worth the wait:

Freaking love M sport cars, and there's really something about a low slung aggressive wagon. The unfortunate reality of the USA is that you cannot get a wagon with anything sporty on it, never mind with the M sport package AND a great color combo. Congrats on the new car, bet it's nice getting looked at for your bavarian brute rather than your orange PT!

Thanks. I would have really liked it in black also (going with the Post Modern Heroes theme), but it constantly rains here 9 months out of the year, and would have hated the constant battle with road grime kicked up by the spray. I should be able to get by without washing for a month's time going with SG.
And... chicks dig wagons! (Kilgore Trout is my hero)

Thanks for giving us a listen! Yeah, my 4x12 situation is a little worse since it is a Vox... which is a bit taller (although narrower) than a Marshall type cab.

Congrats, and a shout out to a fellow space grey e91 owner... Wish I could have specc'd m sport here in Canada, but had to settle for the regular sports package. Your car looks great.

I had an oversized Mesa 4x12 (red snake skin)that thing was huge, and a pain but I loved it, then we stopped playing and I bought a Vox 1x12 combo for at home use and its pretty good.

What, no love for 2x12's over here?!?
Even my cab is oversized for a 2x12 though, so we'll see how it fits in my new e92 once I get it in from Baltimore...might be callin the drummer over to make use of his 4-runner more than I think! OP, congrats on the new wagon, BMW certainly knows how to build em just right! And I'm with you, once I saw the M sport on the e92, I knew nothing else would do... well maybe an M3 would suffice |

Nice! You would have to show off your 335i, now wouldn't you... Mr. Sweden! *razz*

Congrats.
Man I must have lucked out. I was at Fort Lewis for over a month a couple years back and it only rained once. |

Nice car
Gorgeous. Much cooler than an SUV, IMHO, but I think wagons can be pretty cool (see old car at left). Really too bad BMW won't strap on the turbos for us.

Beautiful Car!!! I love the color scheme! That grey is so nice, it doesn't show dirt like white or black. One thing I can't stand about a black car, is you see every small scratch. Congrats! I'm envious.

193M wheels are not specific to the 335i, but yes...

Beautiful! Love the E91, especially in LCI ZMP flavor.
Just curious, how did you get it without roof rails? Does ZMP delete those? First E91 I've seen without them, and it looks sleek as hell without 'em.
