E92 335 resale -- not exactly what I would have thought

Went to my selling dealership's website, CPO

2007 with 29k is $28

2008 with 18k is $34

Those are what I consider low prices. This is an authorized dealership with CPO--imagine what a private party would bring.

Heck, if I were to do it again, since the new car experience with BMW is sh****, I would probably go for that 2008 because 18k is not bad, the orig. warr. expires Oct. 26. And as many have pointed out here on the forum, all the options are basically worthless on the used market, as the car is loaded with everything (incl. auto which I wouldn't want).....

CPO is the best thing BMW did to these cars.

There is no great mystery about these prices. It takes about 2 minutes to get on edmunds.com (go to "TMV"), punch in the car descriptions, and up pop the retail/private party/trade-in (and CPO) values based on current market data. What you will see there is pretty much what you quoted from the dealer. Since there is some delay between the TMV data and and current market (prices continue to fall), the TMV values are probably a bit high.

If the MSRP of both cars is $50,000 and you consider them to be four and a half and three and a half years old respectively... The first depreciated at 12% which seems more than reasonable for the first few years of ownership; the second car, at 10.5% which I would call extremely generous... I think Edmunds TMV undervalues cars but maybe it is right for regular 3-series models...

I bought an 08 with more miles than an 07 with less because of warranty purposes. I have the CPO warranty until dec of 2013. I won't reach the 100k.

They're probably up to their eyeballs in 2007 and 2008 lease returns -- leased before the economy tanked -- right now.

If you have access to the "Black Book" (auction) prices, you will probably see even better bargains.

One (1) manual transmission 328iT wagon pops out of the BMW finder, but it's in California. Coincidentally, it's pretty close to mine in configuration.

the price is about right. Non CPO cars for an 08 could be bought for around $27k, similar mileage.
