New Member and.....

Just bought a CPO 2007 328xi silver w/ Premium, CWP, and iDrive from BMW Cleveland. This car will be replacing my 05 Corolla S. Yep, I know. It's a big upgrade from a Corolla to a BMW.
Few questions to ask, is their any way to make the car to beep when it locks and unlocks? Second, since I bought it CPO, should I have recieve a valet fob and all the books to the car? I was in a rush and the sales person never got around to find the books.

AND FINALLY, I just got rear ended by a Oldsmobile while I was on my way to MAG BMW to get something replaced. I was really pissed off and did not want to file a police report cause it will show on the CarFax but I did get the other persons insurance information and claim been filed. Any recommendations of whether to upgrade the bumper to the aerodynamic one or keep the same one?

The valet key is the two ket fobs. Just lock your dash and pull out the metal key from the key fob.

You should get all books.

Congrats on the ride

While a horn beep to signal lock/unlock is available only if you have the optional BMW alarm, you can set the lights to flash:

Setting confirmation signals
You can program the vehicle to confirm when it
has been locked or unlocked.

1. Open the start menu.
2. Press the controller to open the menu.
3. Select "Settings" and press the controller.
4. Select "Vehicle / Tires" and press the controller.
5. If necessary, move the highlight marker to
the uppermost field. Turn the controller
until "Door locks" is selected and press the

controller.

6. Select "Confirmation" and press the controller

And while the dealer should provide all manuals, service history and Carfax, you can probably download your manual in pdf form at BMWUSA.com.

Enjoy your first Bimmer!

Congrats, but not filing a police report will not avoid a Carfax since you filed an insurance claim.

The only way to maintain a clean Carfax in that case would have been to pay for the repair out of pocket or convince the other person to give you cash.

I know for sure is that some insurance company does not report to Carfax, depending on who you are insured with. I have filed claims with nationwide and state farm and they do not report but I know for sure that a accident report will report to carfax.
