mileage on the 335d, first few weeks?

i've been doing a little of city driving ever since i got my 2011 335d. i've done about 150 miles but my mileage i've gotten so far is only 20MPG. what kind of mileage have you seen?

also, how long do you wait after starting your 335d? few seconds? few minutes?

I wait about 1 min on my M. I would recommend waiting at least 30 seconds before driving any car. Just my opinion though.

About 23 mpg city with a lead foot and driving around in DS mode a lot. 31 mpg's with a mix of city and mostly highway - again with a heavy foot.

During a mix of city/hwy I got 470 miles out of a tank of gas and according to the computer I had another 20 miles left.

BTW, I have about 1900 miles on my car now.

The car really responds positively to hypermiling. The MPG's will go through the roof.

i haven't tested this yet on my 325i but on my dads S60 the engine would sit at 1k rpm for the first 15-20 sec and then it would drop to about 450~550. Only then i would drive off in it. Now when we got -16°C i always go out, start the engine and then scrape the windows and such so that the engine gets a few minutes to warm up. Ordinarily though i would just give it a few seconds, get in, start it, put on ur belt and do all the minor adjustments, hook up ur phone/selec t good radio channel, make sure u sit properly, adjust the assheat and so on, and by then it should be ready.

20mpg is about right for city driving. My car gets about 23-24 when I drive around town. Keep in mind, this is the same kind of driving that barely got me 16 mpg out of my old 328xi.

My computer mileage sits at about 34-36 in mixed driving. I have never seen below about 31-32. The highest in freeway driving was about 42.7 but I know I could do better. I don't know what you could do to get mileage less the 30 in this car....6600k now.

26 - 27 mpg in suburbs with lots of red lights (there's a light every mile -- sometimes as many as 3 per mile).

i see about 25 mpg in short distance city driving (about 6 miles to work each way). On the highway i was getting around 34-36 mpg. I currently have about 3000 miles on mine.

I'm averaging 33 MPG with about 70/30% highway/city driving. I live in Florida so i just get in and go! I don't think many people recommend letting the car idle to warm up anymore.

That's poor but I have to admit two x-drive 328 loaners that I had only did 17, and one was over 8 days. Exact same commute in a 335 6man was 19.7.
Either the AWD ate a lot of fuel, or the 328 is simply an inefficient 200 ft. lb. motor.

My last fuel up of half a tank I got just over 32mpg. I do about 75% hwy (75-80mph) and 25% city driving. The car just hit 1300 miles on the odometer

It could be that...or it could be my TPMS Malfunction light which it is. Winter rims & tires, i have an old TPMS sensors because the rims came w/ sensors to fit older model years. They changed them for 2010 i believe?

Winter setup is on!

MPG's

I've got ~1500 miles on my "d" and I've been getting 34-37 mpg. I drive mostly interstate 80 miles/ day without cruise control on and ~ 75-85 mph. This car is freakin amazing, I love it!!!!!!!!

Mileage for my last 2 tanks (calculated at the pump) were 27.1 and 27.6.
Computer shows about 1mpg lower than calculated.

2500 miles on the car now, probably 60% highway 40% city driving.

I "only" average around 10L/100km or 23 MPG. Then again, my commute is mostly city and I live in a very hilly area. Going home means climbing up a hill from an elevation of 0m to 200m. Very good mileage indeed!
