time to replace ze battery?
hi!
I'm posting this because recently, my car had been doing slow crank up start(about 3-4second crank before coming alive). In addition to the slow crank, it also gives me a bunch of warning symbols. ( http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472491 ) i called the dealership and asked them about it. Then i asked "could it be a failing DSC hydro unit etc..?". He said that DSC unit failure is a very rare problem on 2007 328i so he said chances are it is the battery that's causing this. i checked the battery and it was 12.2ishV unpowered. i powered the card and it jumps to 15ishV. are the above reading OK? |

12.2 volts according to most charts means your battery is down to about one half of the original capacity. I replaced my battery at that time with a Deka manufactured AGM 95 AH battery and had it registered rather than waiting until it could not jump start another car and would probably need replacement within a year.

I'm sitting at my Indy waiting to get my battery registered. I had 11.5v when the car was off. No voltage warnings or problems cranking. A bit slow at times but it always starts up fine.
