New member, The tale of love between a man and a car
Heya guys!
First post here, been lurking around for roughly a month but i figured i'd join in and share my story. Perhaps a little about me first! I'm 23, got my first BMW Z3 '96 from my mom when i was 17. At the time we had a Toyota MR2 mkII, the Z3, a Renault R19 and my dads Volvo S40, me and my dad moved back to sweden but my mom stayed in Holland where we had moved to due to dads work. After a month or two my mom realised she couldn't have both the MR2 and the Z3 so it was sent home to me in sweden. Unfortunately at the time i did not have a drivers licence as i was studying and didn't see the need for it, the Z3 stood in a garage for about 2-3 years until my mom came back and claimed it. At 21 i felt i was done studying and immediately got an employment at Volvo IT (Yeah i know, swedes, volvo, goddamn stereotypes...). After living at home for about 5 months i had managed to save up enough to buy my first car (paid entirely by myself), a black E90 '05 320i with 37000km on the meter (thats about 23k miles). This was the first car that was my own and i loved it with my heart and soul. Washed it once a week by hand, kept the interior neat and tidy. It was ALMOST everything i wanted. My dreamcar was a E92 but i figured this would suffice. Here she is: As european fuel prices are about 2-3times the price in the US you don't see many 335's for sale. Just yesterday i did a search on the biggest car site in sweden and it gave no responces at all. My sister (obviously envious) bought a 120d Coupe a few months after i got mine and a few months after that my mom wanted to get one to. Me and my sister set out on finding my mother a car and after a while we found a E46 320i with only 20,000km on it (11k miles) for her. as good as new!! At the same time i just happened to see a E92 325i '07 with 37,000km on it (22k miles). Pardon the dirt, this is what your car will look like if you drive it in th swedish winter. After shedding a few tears for my old car (yeah, i'm squishy like that) i traded in my E90. I can now say that i'm more satisfied with the E92, even though i lost 2 doors and increased my fuel consumption by about 15%. However, I do not have the same feelings for the E92 as i had with the E90. Anyone else experience this? Love one car more but be more satisfied with the other? So here i am, in a NA forum (there aren't any dedicated E9x forums in sweden/europe) hoping i will accepted even though i'm 100hp below you guys. Thanks for reading! /Dave |

Since you are new here, here are some useful links:
1) Here is a link where you can find your owner’s manual (in case you lost it) and videos about your car http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/Owner/dgh.aspx 2) Here is a list of useful DIYs (Even if you don’t DIY as least you know what they do when they work on your car) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1721 3) This link is a must read if you are thinking about modding your car, http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66970 4) If you are thinking about extended warranties take a look here, especially at post #20 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ded+warranties 5) If you have an iphone (android app coming soon), download the bimmerpost app http://www.bimmerpost.com/tag/bimmerpost-app/ Welcome and Happy Motoring!

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Chriztofor, thanks for the info. about the iphone app, it seems not to work atm, or maybe it just doesn't work with a euro ip? i don't know, i start the app and get to about half the pages, the rest it says "cannot connect"
Also that mod post is HUGE =D all i'm looking to do is swap out my yellow/orange angeleyes for some brighter, whiter ones. Also the IPOD install for my iphone4/ parrot CK3000 with the connect2s, not sure if the ipod works for me though, i think its not supported by the business professional Last edited by XieJin; 01-05-2011 at 03:36 PM.. |

I totally hear you on this...
My 2011 E92 325 is better in every single way over my 2008 Audi TT. (ignoring aesthetics inside and out) Yet for me....the E92 does not excite me...is deeply satisfies me, but no mmmph! There is/can be something emotional about a car....maybe in a couple of years I will feel this way about my e92. I'm going to go wash it now...I love her more when it's shiny...and Taipei winters...rain and all that....yep yep! |

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.
I respect the fact that you worked and paid for your car on your own at age 23. There are alot of early 20's people here who drives there E9X with their Daddy's money. You get a nice satisfaction when you buy something you love with your own hard earned money. Cars are just like girls... you never forget your first love no matter what you get after. So the E90 was your first love, E92 is better, but that's not the car you fell in love with to begin with. I think that's why you are having those feelings towards your Black E90.
