Floor of my car's rear driver's side is wet...wtf!?
The buckets of water pouring down on LA since December is really starting to piss me off. Last week, I noticed that the rear driver's floor of my 2007 328i sedan was completely soaked, floor mat and all. The weird thing is that the other parts of my car were dry. I tried to wipe up the water, but even after a week, it never seemed to dry and remained just as wet. There's so much water that it leaks out from the bottom if my car is stationary.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I have NO idea where the water is coming from... -Michelle |

there could be a leak in the seal between your window and the weather stripping. next time it rains or the next time you wash your car check it out for any condensation or beads of water on the inside of your car. or there could be a bad seal between the door and the door frame of the body.
and i'm assuming your windows were all the way up right? lol |

The day I drive my car into a river/lake/pond is the day I sit in the driver's seat and sink with it for being such a retard. LOL.
And yeah, my windows were up. I just did a little experiment and yeah, I think it's a bad seal between the bottom of the door and door frame...that's where a small stream of water was leaking in from. FML. Hopefully, the dealership confirms this tomorrow and doesn't tell me that something ELSE is wrong... |

I've had problems like this with previous cars.
It's important to pull out everything that is wet and dry it out as soon as possible. Once that moldy smell gets in there, it's hard to get rid of it. |

Have you had your windows tinted or new speakers installed? Someone may have taken your inner door panels off and not re-sealed the plastic moisture barrier properly.

I was gonna say......
Not BMW specific but I had this symptom in my Nissan--mysteriously went away. I did also find a broken y-connector in the rear-right 1/4 panel that allowed the sunroof and the power antenna to drain out the bottom of the car. I just could never figure out why that translated into a wet front pass. floor. Seriously, can anyone explain the sunroof drains? Why would you need them, is it when the sunroof is open and it's raining, or is it if the sunroof doesn't seal properly, it's a backup system? |

Probably the foam barriers in the front or rear door on the wet side. BMW calls them vapor barriers but aolt more than vapor is held back. If the window regulator(s) or door lock actuators were replaced and the barriers not correctly resealed, most of the water will gather on the rear floor board. Also timmahh may be correct with clogged sunroof drains. Ive seen more of the barriers not correctly resealed.
