Error codes but no Service Engine light

So I got a Peake code reader for xmas and I tried it out today to make sure it worked. Although I don't have a Service Engine light on, the code reader shows 3 error codes, two about the crankshaft and one about the 'map thermometer' or something like that. Does the car not display a SES light for all errors or are these 3 errors just fake-outs? I emailed peake and haven't heard back yet but i was just curious of your opinions.

note that peake's tool isn't a generic OBDII reader. It's configured specifically for BMW codes, like the BT tool.

Im with Gunsekun, or have you been tuning? Hidden tuner codes maybe?

Clear the codes and see if they pop up again.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

They could be stored codes.....not active.

Also our cars will log a couple events before the SES or any light trips....depending on urgency. Although a crankshaft error sounds kinda serious.

Not all codes will trigger an SES light. Some will trigger immediately, others sometimes take a few iterations of seeing the same code before it triggers.

It's also possible that your SES was disabled if someone tuned your ECU. When you turn the ignition on does the SES light illuminate?

Def never been tuned and the SES light has been on before (ignition coil). Man I hope I dont actually have impending crankshaft issues.
