What exactly lights up when the rear pad sensor is worn????
I know there are 2 systems at work to tell you when you need brakes.... There is the CBS mileage countdown and there is also the pad sensor.....
What lights up with the CBS mileage when you hit zero miles for brake service AND What lights up when the sensor itself has contacted the rotor??? Right now I am have a red light saying the word BRAKE, which came on at zero miles for brake service. Should I be expected some other indicator light when the sensor actually wears down??? Thanks. |

I don't think so. The computer counted down from the past 1,500 miles or so when it put the yellow service light when the car starts. Then it turns red, and lights the BRAKE light. Mine are coming up in 700 miles.

Sounds like you're due.
On older models a lighted disco ball would come down from the roof. That's when you would know its time.

The CBS mileage countdown is just an estimate based on driving habits; it does not measure anything. I believe it turns red and shows 0 miles when the sensor actually makes contact.
