tyre size info

Looks like i will be needing to change tyres soon i am thinking of getting rid of the runflats Currently i have a staggered setup of 225/45/R17 on the front and 255/40/R17 on the back. Question is can i have the same size on all four wheels? Any advise will be appreciated.

Well if you had an SE or ES rather than the M Sport then the car would come with the same size all round (my 335D has 225/45/R17 all round).

I suppose the only thing that might make this not possible is if the rims on the M are different front to rear.

Lets wait for somebody who knows what they are talking about to come along.

I fitted 225/45/17 winters all around in my OEM staggered 17" wheels.

I think the rear wheels on my car are wider than the fronts, so if i can i incraese the width on the front tyres and reduce it on the rears and fit something like 235/45/17" allround. Would this be ok and will it effect the speedo, or will it be ok to fit 225/45/17" allround but will these be ok on the wider rear wheels.

Why do you want to do this? Your car has front wheels at 8j (inch) width and rears at 8.5j, so ideally you should stick with the correct 225 and 255 widths resp.

if you go for the same width all round, It will effect the handling quite a bit and give you a lot less rear grip to lean on. I know this from fitting winter tyres of the same width front and rear.
