Bmw 335d intermittent turbo problem

I have a 56 335d with a dms remap, I don't do much driving in it but when I run it, I give it a good run, the problem is that it seems that the smaller turbo works on and off . I put my foot down and nothing then when the second turbo comes in I presume at 3 or 3.5k it shoots off, if I floor it , it will go like a rocket and through the gears no problem but if I give it sudden acceleration some times it's flat nothing then when the revs go up it takes off, but if I take off hard acceleration and come off the acceleration at a junction and put my foot down there is nothing . The problem has got worse because I only do about 300 miles a month in it. Its doing my head in Iam wondering wether to take it to the stealer but unsure of the cost or let a independent at it? Because if they re flash the software I've lost the map and more costs ?

If you do a lot of short trips, and don't rev it out much, the DPF might be going through regeneration more often. Pretty sure the engine doesn't run optimally when going through that cycle.
