Any thoughts on the 2011 Lexus IS350?

Just saw a commercial on Speed comparing it to all three German brands, a C350, an A4 and a 335.

Why do Japanese cars only get max torque at 4800 plus rpm? Although I think the IS350 will be more refined than the G37, likely too "refined" to the point of being boring.

The styling is also too much a chick car.

Lexus does a great job at separating men from the Machine. This is why I attempt to identify those that drive a lexus at parties and make every effort not to talk to them... I can only spend so much time discussing the newest trends in male moisturizers before I wanna shoot myself in the head.

Thanks for the useful comment, this is just going to be another bashing thread.

I think it would compare favorably to the c350 and the a4.

Lexus is probably just trying to push their "F" line performance parts and suspension; there's really no change, they've always been there. As usual, you probably can't order any of the mods from the factory, so you pay the price for installation added to the cost of the the build for the car. Nothing has changed from what I've seen.

G25, C300, 328i, IS 250, A4.
G37, C350, 335i, IS 350, S4.
C63, M3, IS F, RS4.
All great cars. Bashers are usually the ones that can't have them all

Having once been in a IS 350 as a passenger, I will say that it rides really rough with the sport package, or maybe the seats sucked, or both but the dynamics for a driver is there.

A 2010 IS350 was one of many cars I test drove, quiet and complaint, good power but boring.

The new gen IS350 might be different, unfortunately the style is still a no go for me.

I had a 350 used mainly for traveling with the factory sport suspension (not the F suspension). The car did great; not one service issue and I ran it hard. Taking it over 75mph was a little rough because I felt the car tend to float. The acceleration wasn't shabby either.

NA The IS350 is a nice place to be. Lexus seats are so comfy. The steering leaves something to be desired but it's a Lexus so that should be expected.

I've driven the 335, C350, IS350, G37, and I own a G35. Out of those I'd pick the 335 if money was no object. Factoring in cost a G/IS makes more sense.

Still would choose it over a 328.. Talking about a chick car a lot of people consider a e90/e92 a chick car also.

I will consider isf as my next car. I read that people have 0 issues with them. I am sure they are just as reliable as any other good jp car

of course i would need to test-drive it first. i remember when i used to like GS430, but after i drove the car, i completely changed my mind

Can't really comment on the power of the IS350 as I test drove an IS250 AWD back when I was looking for a car, but overall I found the interior of the IS to be really cramped, and the handling was definitely a step below that of the 3 series.

No matter how much you cut & paste a Lexus with aftermarket parts, F sport parts, stickers, etc. it will never drive & feel like a BMW. I speak from experience.

The Lexus GS450h will give the BMW 550i a run for sure. So much fun to drive

An E92 maybe but not the E90 look. Add some good wheels and flat tires flush with the fenders, the E90 looks like a bad ass race car with prestige, no chick wants to drive it but posing a pic with it

As for the new gen IS350, I am sure it is more roomier than the old one, this was one of the biggest compplaints about the old IS.

But I have to agree with many, after test driving the 2010 IS350, among no less than ten different cars, I picked my 328i. The 328 is not slow at all if you know how to drive it. The handling of the 328 is unmatched by Audi, MB, Infiniti, Lexus...

If I didn't go with the 335 I would have strongly considered the Lexus.

The IS350 is a nice luxury car, the Mark levingston sound system in the lexus is sweet I wish my 335 sounded like that, all BMW handle better though they are more of a drivers car, the lexus is pretty mellow despite the HP it will drive it self.

I like that they finally made the IS350 AWD.

I think IS350 is a great car with good resale value. You can't go wrong with IS line. The price is just right. Max torque occurs at mid-range meaning it is a very useful daily vehicle. You don't need to rev it all the way to the moon to get the HP out of it. I remember my '01 S2000 days but you have to rev the heck out of it. Though, I still like 3-series handling better stock vs stock.

why no talk about 335 killer....... the is-f

the package if very attractive. the only downside is Auto tranny, but even that is modified to be just as good as dual-clutch ones.

250 is just too damn slow, and 350 is just too damn basic and borring (with auto tranny)

because the IS F is aimed at the M3 and not the 335i. Different segments.
