Active Cruise on 2011 335i, Stop & Go?

Hi all,

I was recently looking at the Connected Drive website which shows the various features and rollout. I looked at Market Rollout USA and 2010 rollout for 3 Series sedan. It showed the active cruise as 'Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go Function." However, in the detailed press release, it does not mention the 3-series.

So, which one is it? I ordered a 2011 335xi w/ active cruise. Will I get stop & go function? From reading the manual, it doesn't look like it. However, when you configure a 5 or 7 series on bmwusa.com, it just says the same thing for the same price: Active Cruise Control $2,400...so I can't tell, anyone know from actual experience on a 2011 (or previous if stop and go was added in 2010)?

I have a 2009 and do not have the Stop and Go and was quite frankly dissapointed that I did not. That was one of the things that almost swayed me to another brand. Along with no blind spot indicator, no back up cam available or no lane wandering alert.

Oh, man, quite saddening to hear...maybe after my lease is over with the redesign, it'll be there. As for some of the other features, they actually pushed me away from some other brands...for example, I know the Infiniti M, its all or nothing on those safety features, so you keep them all on, or you got none and some are very annoying I hear. Not to mention false alarms on blis and non-detections (if car is a lane over and you turn in and they are turning in at the same time, may not be detected until too late if you're not looking). Anyway, thanks for the clarification...don't mean to start a comparison on what features are good to have and which aren't...stop and go would have been amazing for NJ traffic (and traffic anywhere really).

Stop-and-go is not available on the 3er Series which is why I didn't order Active Cruise Control.

Having driven multiple cars for thousands of km with active cruise WITH stop-and-go, I can't see spending $2400 for ACC without that feature.

I was so proud of my ACC until reading this thread. I need S&G. ACC is great for long highway drives. Add in S&G and maybe one notch closer on the distance (too many cut-ins..) and I'd be real pleased.

Ya, I kinda am let down but ordered my 3 knowing that this wasn't in it. I guess it'll be a good reason for me to upgrade to the new 3 series in 2013 when my lease ends...among other good reasons I hope (as well as hopefully a good ownership experience...this'll be my first BMW).
