Exhaust Pop and Gargle?

I recently was driving my 2011 335i coupe in steptronic mode. I noticed that in first gear, if I barely feathered the pedal and revved the car to about 2000 rpm then let off the exhaust seemed to produce a gargling noise. I stopped and revved the car and heard pops when the rpms went back down. I was wondering if this is normal. I have uploaded a video to help better describe, what I am talking about.

You need to put an aftermarket exhaust system on to get even more pops and gargles!

The burble & gurgle sounds FANTASTIC with my AE exhaust and with an MT you have lots of control over it. I don't think I've come across anyone who doesn't enjoy that sound...

Umm.... Happens on NA cars too, on the overrun. My E36 M3 did it a whole bunch with the help of a much less restrictive exhaust.

Someone correct me if im wrong, but I believe its extra fuel that was not ignited being dumped into the exhaust and igniting; causing the popping sound. Which sounds bad ass imo.

You need to listen to a 04-08ish Yamaha R1 with exhaust coming down the rpm range in gear around 5k rpm. I love the pops it makes.

Its the air getting trapped in the exhaust pipe.
