Let's have an uplifting story for once! I'll start...
I hated my Range Rover Sport. It has a rattle-y and cheap interior, handled poorly, slow, and had too harsh of a ride. I couldn't understand why it's been praised for being such a great sports suv. This is where the good part begins...
Well, I needed tires and brakes, so I decided to get it aligned and balanced as well. All I can say is: I freakin LOVE the thing now! It's a completely different truck with the alignment! It has quick turn in, minimum body roll, never looses prowess through a turn, and feels SO balanced. It's the ideal sports sedan, and the ultimate truck. Dare I say that it's more fun to drive than the non sport e90 I have. (Which is sort of a disappointment.) I just can't get over how the characteristics of the ride quality and the handling changed. Now, all the downsides make sense- the interior isn't meant to be "luxury-barge", it's a cockpit for a truly sporting drive. What's also funny is that before, I had to really slow down for turns because you literally had to brace yourself for every single curve (I guess that's why I really starting getting agitated with it), and now I just want to keep going faster and faster through the turn. I want to chuck it here and throw it there. It's a really satisfying drive, and I bet that the guys on the board can really appreciate that.

I thought it would be a little more entertaining than that... I guess I'm not a good story teller or no one cares. lol

We both were very excited... it was even sweeter when he said that he also included the tip... well we tipped him anyways. It was an older gentleman who was by himself... may be if we were nicer to him he would have included us in his will.... ... who knows. It was a great gesture and I still remember it to this day. |

^^ That actually went through my mind for a second, but it's driven like that for a long time. It's weird I didn't notice it go out of whack. I'm not sure how or why it happened, but it's great now! I've been making excuses so I can drive... just like what I do with the Bimmer.
^^ And that was really nice. Sorry I'm not quoting- I was a long time reader, then I joined, and in all that time, I still never learned how to. lol

Had a RR Sport SC for less than a year. Came from a Cayenne Turbo. There was no comparison. Looked nice, but not much fun. I am a sucker for supercharger whine, but that passed after a bit (less than a year later). My 535 wagon is 10x more fun and my 335, well, I wouldnt even compare.

Glad you're happy with the Range Rover Sport, but consider yourself lucky. Every friend of mine that has had one has dumped it in less than a year. Never due to the driving experience, all because of the crap reliability and poor build quality.

I agree on the build quality, it's sub par. The Harman/Kardon stereo is too much for the tailgate too because the bass makes it rattle. It also makes the left rear door rattle and the rear window defroster rattle. Everything feels hollow in it, and there's acres of cheap plastic. But, it drives so well that I don't care anymore. Not to mention the sound of the engine...

While I'm glad you like your truck again, I still completely do not understand the appeal of the RR. I actually like the looks a lot, but it seems like an overpriced cheaply-built SUV that people only buy for the name. IMO, there are many other superior vehicles out there for the money.
But it has to be the new tires you're noticing. Tires degrade slowly over time, so it's difficult to notice them starting to get bad. Once you get some new ones installed and drive it back-to-back, the difference is very noticeable.

I was kind of hoping that it wasn't the tires. It's not only how the truck handles, but it's its road manners too. When I drive over bumps, it's solid. Before, the entire suspension jiggled around for awhile after the impact. The steering was weird in the center, it's almost like it had play and no feel or response. I'm REALLY hoping it needed an alignment and that it wasn't the tires.
I share the same view on the Range Rovers. I paid a lot of money for it, and I don't feel like I've received $65,000 in return. It's had a few problems, but it's built like crap. The REAL Range Rovers, however, are a different story.

I hate to break it you, but NO they're not. They're just as bad if not worse considering Land Rover has had serious quality issues long before the "Sport" even existed.

I'm aware of their reliability issues, but their build quality is MUCH better. (Materials, durability, etc.)
