Picked the car up last Saturday. Nothing fancy - 328i x-Drive, premium, auto and a few other options. Black interior with the dark wood.
Starting out I was looking for a RWD, as I am a firm believer in snow tires and the wife has a SUV (with snows) for the mountains, etc., I would have saved the money. However, there was not a single RWD 328 in the state of Colorado, would have needed to truck one from NM or drive down and get one. I do ski a lot, so in the end it just made more sense. The auto is a concession to the realities of being married, but I don't think I saw a 6-speed in my trips to various dealers either. I've had Audi and MB previously, and had been seriously consideering a BMW bike to join/replace my SV650, but that may have to wait for a while. So far I'm really liking the car, and the wife digs it (she hated my 08 GTI that I had previously). I find the polarization issue with the radio a little crazy on a 2011, but if that's my biggest issue I guess that's pretty good. Anyhow, this seems to be a really informative forum. Welcome! Gorgeous car, I'm sure you will appreciate the xDrive as much as I did. BTW, I would highly recommend joining the rocky Mountain CCA chapter. We have some great drives and all kinds of things going on. Take a look here:
