Random Engin Failure

This BMW started just shutting down when I stop at a robot / intersection. This is not happening all the time. This is like happening maybe at every 10th robot or intersection when i have to slow down ... put in neutral... and stop...then it dies on my.. NOW ERRORS OR WARNINGS ARE GIVEN!!!! Does anyone know what is doing this. regards BALLAS SOUTH AFRICA (CAPE TOWN)
