TRANSMISSION Malfunction... Hum...

so last night i picked up my new coupe. ill get some pics up later today. the car had 7 miles at delivery. after all was said and done, and i had a moment of tears giving up my E90 330... i rode on home. At 25 miles i get an ! with a gear around it on the trip computer, then the i-Drive displays the same thing, and says...
"Transmission Malfunction! Car is still drivable, reduced acceleration level, and contact your BMW center."
or something like that. so i keep driving, but slow down a bit and brake easy.
Leading up to this i was taking it really really easy on the car, hadent used my paddles, or even put it in drive sport. i dont even think i got about 3500 rpms.
so i call my CA and he says you need to "reset" the car. i have never heard of such a thing. so i pulled over at my work, since it was like 2 exits from where i was... keep in mind im on the freeway!! but after i pull over i shut it down and let it sit for about 20-25 minutes. after that i got back in, and drove on home, took it really easy again... and nothing. the car has 78 miles on it now, drove it a little last night, and nothing, so i hope... no make that i really hope that it went away.
i kinda hope this is not an indicator of things to come. i will be so dissapointed. ohhh and did i mention waiting to hit 1k to be done with the break-in is going to be a BITCH!! this cars faaaassssst.

How do you reset the computer? What exactly does that do? I have a constant warning light about an 'exterior bulb failure", i checked the lights and everything is fine...the weird part is that sometimes it goes away, the next day it comes back...ARGHH

my CA told me to start, stop, start the car... i dont know if thats bs or what? if you have a bulb warning, it might be a faulty connection...

Everytime you restart the car, the computer does a systems check-perhaps that eliminated what was likely a faulty error signal anyways
