335i to a 750i
Im always at the dealer with my car.... I got the car in March and since then I've been there about 4 times, which to me is excessive. Im about to go back in for what possibly might be the fuel pump (2nd) or wastegates.
Dealer offered to trade my 07 335i with 48k miles (prem, sprt, nav, ca, extended warranty) for a 06 750i fully loaded with 15k miles w/ extended warranty. The 750i would be 30k w/ the extended warranty... They say they would give me a good deal on my car. What do u guys think? 750i isnt my type of ride its pretty big. And I love my 335i but with all these issues im afraid its going to crap out on me. And i really hate going to the dealer to get it fixed its just extremely inconvenient. But the 750i would be a lot more reliable. Im not sure what an 06 750i would go for but if I had to guess its probably a lot more than 30k. Would I be a fool to turn it down?

Your logic does not make sense. A 7 series has that many more gadgets and little bells and whistles than can go wrong. The 3 series is far more reliable than a 7 series(reason why they are offering to trade a once 100k+ car for one that was 50k tops)

I wouldn't do it. 750i's took a huge hit recently. My friend was trying to sell his for months before he got 30k for it with extended maintenance. Don't let the dealer play you. Good luck.

335 to a 750. tough call. I live my 335 and for me i think the 750 id just too big. it is a good deal though. worst case take the deal and sell the 750 outright make a couple grand on it and get another 3 series or an M5. thats what i would do. good luck!

i'd take a 750i anyday assuming it has no problems. you can expect to be in the shop a lot more with a 7 series than with a 3 series.
just remember that you are buying it for 30k, but you're still doing maintenance/repairs on a 80k car |

I've got a 3 and my mother drives a 750li. I'd trade anyday. It's easily the most comfortable car I've ever been in (on par with the Mercedes S63). With the big torque-y engine, I find its got the speed too.

Is it really a hard decision? If you prefer driving a couch, go for the 7. If you prefer a sporty drive stay with the 3. My ex had a 7 and I had a 335 years ago. I hated driving the 7 unless it was long distance.

Not the best looking 7 Series... If they were offering you a M3 or a 545i I might jump on it...

7's are nice to be honest. But as pointed out there's so much stuff that can go wrong.
We had an e65 7er for around 6 years and treated it very well. In that time, stereo speakers self-destructed, ecu had a melt down due to unknown battery issues, rear tyre randomly deflated which we later had to throw out... Again, good cars... until something goes wrong unfortunately. I guess there was a reason why they gave it to us for 2/3rds of the RRP ps: nothing else looks more dope than a 7 series on some nice wheels with dark tints. so if thats your style... |

stay with your 335i. I know 335i is not as reliable as 328i/325i/330i , the maintenance cost must be less than a 7 series. the 7 series is full of complicated sensors....just like comparing C-class to S-Class.

You are getting a good deal with the car, but do not forget about maintenance.
