How to remove center panel

How best to remove the lower half (a/c controls, PDC button strip) of my center panel?

I researched a little and all I got was that it wedges right out. That's fine, just wanted to know if there's any best way to do that. I know there are 'trim wedge tools' for the task, but beyond that...any particular side better than the other to start with? Any other tips so I don't leave any unsightly marks?

Thanks,
Howard

There are a couple vendors who sell plastic trim removal tool kits, they're very reasonably priced, and they work great. I have one that has about 6 or 7 tools in it and I use it all the time. Comes in a cloth pouch that you can roll and tie up for storage. The problem is that I forget where I got it because I've had it for so long - it may have been Griot's Garage as the pouch it Griot's red, but I've seen other vendors with similar kits as well. I don't remember the exact cost but I think it was around $20 - so very cheap and well worth it. Do a little searching and I'm sure you'll find something. The plastic trim tools are great because they don't scratch.

That's not the exact one I have, but that one looks great - perhaps even better than the one I have! Go for it!
