Post Question: e90 Seat Swap

First post and I did a quick search. Maybe too quick... but I digress

Assuming I keep my car (see sig), I would need to do something about the ZSP seats as they are too narrow.

Would any E90 premium, heated seats fit?

TIA for the advice

yes and there would be many people willing to switch with you (and they should add cash too)

Sweet.

I've heard that was the case... Do many people sell their non-sport seats or are they usually trades?

I would say trading is most common. You don't want to sell the seats and then not have anything to put back in

I can see that, for sure... Wouldn't it hurt resale on a ZSP to have non-ZSP seats though?

That's why I was going to attempt to purchase instead of trade.

Thanks for the quick reply by the way.

yes, probably, especially for people like us who know what is supposed to be in the packages. And because the seats are a big reason people want ZSP.

You're thinking of buying standard seats and keeping the sport ones to swap back in if you sell? Good idea but it's going to be hard to find people just selling seats, if it happens its almost always a swap

it may sound crude, but try a wrecking yard or dismantler.

Right.

Yeah, I have storage room so I was going to seal up the ZSP seats and go with the standard seats in the car.

Crude... but a good idea nonetheless... I'll have to look around.

Do they have a universal connector for the electrical workings too? Seat adjustment, heat, etc?

My car is the same color as yours TS with black interior, and I would be interested in trading seats. Mine are heated non-sport seats in great condition. I've never sat in the ZSP seats but I think they look pretty cool so I would entertain a trade. However, I'm in Memphis, TN. Too bad I'm not still in Knoxville . Anyway, if you are ever relatively close maybe we could meet up and switch. I would want to sit in ZSP seats first though...PM me if interested.

Most buyers dont have a clue about the difference between sport and non-sport seats. Save your money, and trade.

I can't PM until tomorrow as I am still a newbie. Once I decide what to do as far as keeping the car or not, I'll be in touch. I haven't sat in the non-sport seats but I hear the back is wider and that is spot on what I need.

Check some of the DIY threads on the swap - it's fairly simple - but there could be some differences in wiring connections.

I checked on here for a DIY on the seat swap and came up short.

I also have heated non sport seats I would be willing to trade plus cash if you decide to do so. As stated above the average buyer really doesn't know the difference. I am in Maryland, but we could work something out if you are willing to trade.

Thanks for all the interest! I should have an idea in the next week or two if I'm going to keep this car. The horror stories I could tell about Performance BMW of Chapel Hill...

Get your post count to five in the meantime
