SNOW!!!!!

It actually snowed here in High Point, North Carolina. I drove the car to college this morning, that was interesting. I pull out of the garage, and up out of the driveway with no problems to my surprise. I then drive out of our estate, slipping a little on the rolling hills. When I get to the exit, I indicate to turn left, put the car in first gear, and away I go, away I go, AWAY I GO DAMN IT!!!!! I had traction issues moving at the slowest pace on to the "main" road. DSC definatly works well, it interfered enough to keep the car going in a "straight" line, but not to much that it wouldn't let me move. Once I got the car moving it was fine. That is of course until I come to a redlight. Braking wasn't an issue, going was. I put it in first, let off the clutch S-L-O-W-L-Y, and still, it slid. But, I kept with it, and DSC was doing its thing, and once I was in second no more issues.......until the next red light. Now, the next redlight is on a road that kind of rolls off to the right, so when I tried to move, the cars backend was sliding to the right toward a telephone pole, this is not a good feeling. most of the way down that road, I felt like the rear right was more to the right that usual.

Once I got to the real main roads, it was pretty much O.K. On the highway I saw 3 accidents, one pick-up had hit an 18-wheeler, another car looked as though it had hit a tree (bonnet was messed up), and another car had slid into the ditch.

I though the car handled respectedly well considering the tyres and the rear wheel drive. I would trust this car out in snow, as long as it wasn't more than 2 inches.

I'm guessing you don't have winter tires, since you're from NC. If you got some winter tires, I'm guessing your sliding issues would be mostly non-existent.
