I have an 06 330 and i'm very happy with it. There were a few problems in the beginning when I had the car with an oil leak but it was fixed by bmw under warranty. There is an ongoing problem tho' with the n52 engine's with like a metallic clicking noise in the engine. I don't think it does any damages just randomly I hear a metallic clicking. The problem is so minor tho' and otherwise i'm completely satisfied with my car. I kinda regret not getting the nav but on the other hand kinda happy 'cause I don't have to use that stupid idrive knob to select things.

You need premium package to get power folding mirrors. Comfort access is being able to unlock, lock, and start the car without having to touch the key.

What other features come with the premium package and how common would it be for me to find parking sensors on a 330i.

What are your thoughts on the sport seats? I've test driven a few 330's with sport package, and some seats seem to be more comfy than others.

(seems to be the car of someone on this forum , very nice).

Can i adjust the leg extension area (where there is a crack) at the bottom of the seat or is that permanent?

Those are the sport seats, with the adjustable thigh support. They are GREAT and are one big reason people get ZSP. That car you linked is either an 07 or later or they swapped the steering wheel. The 06 doesn't have the metal trim. Also, looks like an M shift knob in that photo, not the stock.

PDC is an uncommon option because (1) it is only on the rear bumper, not the front, and (2) the car is short to begin with, not much trouble to park. IMO, PDC is most effective with iDrive, where you get both visual and audible cues.

ZPP is common. ZSP is common, at least here on the forum. As for common problems, I haven't had any trouble, but the N52 engine lifter ticking is common, the front passenger seat airbag sensor had a recall, and the steering column electric lock failing is common. Lock actuators and/or lock fuses have been known to fail. Also, the non-ZSP tires (Turanza) are known to wear quickly and unevenly and make a lot of noise when worn.

I had a rear wheel bearing go bad on mine, I have 71k on it. My 330i has the premium package, sport package, iDrive, and L7 audio. I would not buy another BMW without the sport package...best package by far, seats are great and the rides like a sports car should. I love the iDrive and the L7 audio is FAR better than the base they normally come with. Overall, the 330i is much more fun than a 325i.

Mines at 73k I believe, never had any major problems, especially the engine clicking.

I would strongly recommend sport plus nav. but the 330i has been solid. There was an issue with the steering column that was fixed under warranty and I had some trim peel which was also covered.

I have been really happy with mine. I have everything except Nav and active steering. Car drives and handles great and is capable of exceptional fuel economy. Reliability has been quite good overall.

I had some buzzing noises that were fixed under warranty when the lines under the throttle body would rattle. Also some trim issues were cared for as well. Other than that, it's been a solid car.

Mine has 65k and no major issues. Passenger seat airbag sensor, door locks all under warranty. Love the NA straight 6. Pure vintage BMW!!

That was fixed in 2008. No such problems with the new EL 42s.

And the valve train ticking apparently only affects a very small percentage of the (non-turbo) 3 liter sixes.

Thanks for all the informative input. The 330i seems to be a legit solid car and I feel a lot more comfortable getting it.

I've been warned about the tires before as well. For those that have switched out the run flats and put on regular tires, how many miles do you seem to be able to get out of them? Was it a hassle, how does the performance/ride feel with either? Thanks..

The first new car I bought was an '06 330i Sport, Prem, iDrive, heated seats, 6MT. What a wonderful car! Best balance of handling and power I've experienced in that chassis. I had no problem with mine.
As with any car, be religious about changing fluids, even the 'lifetime ones'. If you had access to a manual it would probably be the way to go if you were going to drive the wheels off of it. Very engaging car! Oh the memories!

Solid car, replaced passenger seat airbag sensor, some peeling interior trim replaced other than great car. ZSP and ZPP are must have packages.

The ZSP package gets the Type 162 wheels, probably the best looking BMW (non-M) wheel available.

Also, the e90 was introduced as a model year 2006, the 330i was a single year offering and replaced by the 335i for model year 2007.

I attached a 2006 Sales Brochure, maybe that will explain what is included in the packages

I had my mat replaced as well. Not a big deal or a rampant problem.

look for oil leak, ticking noise from lifters, brake pedal going hard after 2 days of not driving car(it's an easy fix. replace check valve), check the service history of car for these also.

I bought mine with 27K miles and none of these were done so I had to take it in and get it done.
