Im bout to buy one and was wondering how much you guys pay for insurance and what seemed to be the cheapest insurance company, for full coverage no tickets, no accidents and good student discount, oh yeah and under your parents name cuz the payments on the insurnce monthly would be more than the car payments

I'm almost 19 with a 328i.... it's a complete and total bitch. Under my parent's policy it's a bit over $2,300 a year with all the discounts and clean record. Plus we have USAA so that helps. I don't even want to know what a 335 would be
p.s. I'm not certain on that number, they never really tell me exactly what it is.

20 years old here and paying $2k a year for insurance w/ student discount and a clean record. $500 deductible on top of that too... I'm definitely paying too much.

Uh-oh, cue the angry old posters who will now complain about how in their day, they needed to work (insert x number here) of jobs to drive (insert piece of shit car here) and were "oh so grateful" for it and that all kids driving (insert anything better than their piece of shit car) are spawns of satan.
I drove a 750Li at the age of 17. It's called the genetic lottery and doesn't automatically qualify someone as spoiled. |

I'm 22 and paying $539 every 6 months. I used to be under my parents until this year. I've got a 328i xDrive. Call up your insurance to make sure you have all discounts possible. I was charged over $700 at first and then they were able to find more discounts I qualified for. Be sure to ask them for any professional society discounts. If you are part of a professional society that is related to your major in college or profession, you can get discounts through them.
Also, other basic things you can get taken off your insurance are roadside assistance, mechanical breakdown, etc. You should still have roadside assistance with BMW if your car is fairly new. And mechanical breakdown is silly to pay for. If your car breaks down, you have roadside assistance to tow u back to the dealership or a shop. Just small corners you can cut here and there which saves you alot of money. |

Why not apply for a quote rather than asking a forum populated by people in different states with different levels of coverage? Unless you are really just poking around for attention.

21 here. Own a new 2010 335i Coupe and pay $1200/6 months for full coverage through State Farm. Insurance is under my mom's name, and I've been in 2 accidents - one being my fault. No additional discounts. Shop around.
