Who has the most loaded e9x from factory?

MPoWeRMAN inspired this question ("Who has the most stripped e90?"). Extra credit points for having fully loaded + mods!

Hey Picus:

Thanks for all the information you post. You have been most helpful.

Curious. I see you installed a clear bra on your car. It obviously sounds like a stupid question but can you summarize the benefits for me.

Sure. I look at a clear bra as the lesser of two evils. On newer cars with softer paint you're basically just protecting the front end from stone chips. If you don't mind stone chips a bra makes no sense at all. I personally hate stone chips, they drive me up the wall; I drove 800km without the bra and had three already which I had to repair. I can only imagine what my front end would have looked like at 8000 or 80,000km. So the bra is adhered to the front of the car, usually between 6-12 inches up the hood and front fenders, and then optionally the front bumper. Most installers will also cover your rear view mirrors.

How it looks depends on three things really, the color of the paint, the quality of the film and most important, the skill of the installer. Someone who stretches the film will produce more off a haze and more orange peel than is desired; so if you do go for it find a local installer who gets good recommendations, look at some of his work, etc.

I hope this helps!

Go to European Auto tinting (right behind Weber Motors). I got all 7 windows tinted (yes there are 7 minus the windshield) and the 3m (hood protector only) for $400. They do the "factory" tint and hood protection for Weber and Southgate.

I stand no chance, but aside from the fact that the cars and options are cheap in the US, I suspect that someone with a Euro model would win this, for the simple fact that not all options are available in the US.

I took everything offered for the 330xi on the Canadian market for model year '06. I'd still like to buy the M-Sport bodykit but as thats not offered during the order process I don't think it should count.

Only factory options I didn't get are Sirius, active steering, active cruise, headlight washers and the ski bag. I did get the heated seats though.

Only thing I wish I would have ordered is the Sirius. Dealers want way too much to install it.

Only aftermarket item is 30% tint.

"For fun" I tried checking every box on the configurator with metallic paint and came up with $54,690. OK -- so who paid $54,690 for his/her 335i?

Since you have to tick a box to get it, does the auto tranny count as an option? LOL

(ok, I'm ducking now)

Selecting every option on bmw.nl for a E92 335i comes to 87746.10 Euro, or 114640.28 USD. Note that this does not include the BMW Individual options as the configurator cannot handle that.

Doing the same thing on bmw.be comes to 69246.- Euro or 90469.90 USD

And on bmw.de it comes to 69902.27 Euro or 91327.32 USD (this does include some individual options)

The main reason for the differences in price is due to local taxes, in the Netherlands you have a 19% sales tax and a 45.2% environment ('BPM') tax, while in Belgium you have a 21% sales tax and in Germany it is now a 19% sales tax (used to be 16% until this year).
