new to BMW's!!! just picked up a 335i sedan

hey guys, i just recently sold what i've driven for the past 5 years (2001 mustang bullitt) and picked up a 2007 titanium silver/black 335i sedan. i picked it up on wednesday and yesterday morning i had to fly out to WV to drive a jeep back down to miami for my parents. i won't be back in miami (or my car) until next friday . in that day i had it however i mustve put over 100 miles on it and WOW. here are some pics of the old and the new. these were taken with my phone since i cant find my camera anywhere.

so i said goodbye to the stangnet and bullittclub forums and i just joined this forum. i really don't know anything about this car as it was 1 million percent impulsive after i test drove it, but it is incredible and i can't wait to get back to it. i loved my mustang, but after test driving this thing for a mile there was honestly no going back.

Sweet. Surely, you must have driven a stick. I can't imagine that the Step would be as intoxicating after a 1-mile test drive. (I have step - it's great but, ahem, sensible).

Congrats and welcome to the fold!

Hey, saw you went from the B6 S4 into the 335i (I went from B5 S4 into the 335i). What are your thoughts on your change? You happy with it?

nope, i drove/bought a step. and it was intoxicating after less than a mile actually. i love my mustang and it was pretty damned fast, but this is a different type of speed and comfort and i couldnt be happier

Track days over because your getting married?? dude, 15 years married here and I'm just *getting into* tracking the car!

Do I miss the S4? Of course I do! I had the car for 6 years, treated it so well, *never* eat or brought any liquid into it, loved it in bad weather, wet weather, etc... But...

It was a tiptronic (wife can't drive stick -- didn't make that mistake this time), 250hp was smooth, chipped at 320hp was fun but unpredictable. Power came on too suddenly, and not quick enough at some times..and then the issues: one turbo going, CV boot leaking, oil temp sensor didn't work, gas fuel sender didn't work (this at 112k miles mind you), inside starting to rattle, throttle body boot tore, both O2 sensors went, fuel injector seal went, DV values replaced...but I still loved it. wish I could have keep it, but couldn't $$$ both the 335i and the S4.

With that said, I *love* the 335i, but after 1 week, I needed to put 17" winter tires on, and got the REVOs instead of LM-25: BIG FRIGGIN MISTAKE!!! Car handles like CRAP! Tires are too soft for so much torque, but being in Syracuse, and my first RWD, I got too cautious, and am *very* pissed with this mild winter. So, I feel like I really I won't know the 335i until mid-March when the 18" goes back on. I'm also *really* curious, and a bit nervous, how it will handle at the Glenn. Quattro makes you think your a better driver, and now I'll actually have to be one!

But no regrets!

Very nice car. How are you making out on insurance. Someone else was offered $500 per month here in S Fla. Did you insurance also consider the 335 a " high risk" car?

cheers
