U.S. Release Date Of The E93 Cabriolet

It's official,the release of the New Hardtop Cabriolet will commence on April 2,for the US as well as ED

Irv, does that mean that ED for delivery in the U.S. will be available on
April 2nd? Also, when do you think the pricing will come available. I assume that the E-93 will not be at the dealers until April, so we can actually see what this car looks like in the flesh. By the way, did you happen to see a platinum bronze E-93 on your trip to N.J. (Is it a darker color than some of the pictures on the brochure have)...Thanks

I have been hearing that it could show up at the Detroit Auto Show and possibly Chicago as well.The earliest ED pick up date you can get is 4/02 which will coincide with the US release......We had heard pricing wouldn't be out till Feruary,but now we're hearing sometime soon,maybe by this Monday,I'm checking daily as I'm sure most other CA's are as well.You can kind of assume it should come in about 5 -6 K higher than the current coupes.I didn't notice any unreleased models when I went to Corporate.The mechanics of the roof should be the same as the Mercedes SLK and SL and anyone else with a power folding hardtop.I was told it's the same company producing for BMW as for MB.........

Thanks Irv, BMW's own press release states that the E-93 will be introduced at the Detroit Int. Auto Show. I believe that the prices will have to be introduced by Monday as the show opens on Sunday, and I would not want to be a BMW rep at the show claiming I don't know the MSRP of a model that is going into production within a few weeks.

From what my salesman tells me here in Canada it will be Febuary production March delivery...
And this guy knows what he's talking about.

So, I'm assuming that includes the Chicago show as well

Vehicle will probably be at the Chicago show also, but definitely will be introduced at the Detroit show on Jan 7th
