Looking over the options list for my '07 335i, I noticed that it came with:

5GA PREP. ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM

My assumption was that this meant all the wiring was complete but the hardware was not there.

Upon further inspection today, I noticed under the hood is the sensor for the alarm per the DIY pictures. Same exact place / part.

And looking in the center dome light area I find



I haven't pulled the rear wheel and cover yet to see if the siren is there, but 2 out of 3 major parts leads me to believe its there.

Is it possible it was just never activated? I don't believe it currently is, because when I try to set the lock/unlock feature to have an audible tone as well as lights, the audible tone is not an option.
