Tracking a BMW vs. tracking an Audi

For those who has tracked both cars, can anyone describe the differnces?

I tracked my 2001 Audi S4 at Watkins Glenn last August, and I felt like there was nothing I could do to lose traction. Just had to fight to keep the car on the track while tracking out due to understeer.

What could I expect with the 335i? I keep thinking that the car will lose the butt and go into a spin (paranoia can be your friend -- when everyone is out to get you that is).

Any insight is appreciated.

Wish I could've kept my B5 A4, went Stage III, full sport suspension, and every performance mod in the book and just track it. If possible I'd say do this with the S4 (keep it as a track car and tune the hell out of it) and use the 335 as a daily driver...

In regards to the track. They both weigh too damn much, get something lighter.. j/k

The 335i will definitely require a more smooth operation with your steering wheel and pedals. But it will teach you to be a better driver. With RWD cars the throttle pedal becomes an extension of your steering wheel.

Also there are a bunch of car control schools where you can experiment with the car. I found auto-x to be a superb school for car and control and good lap times.

If you plan on tracking the 335, make sure you install an LSD

I've heard that. So, my question is: Is one available for the 335i, and if so, what do we think the cost, installed, would be?

I don't plan on tracking the car too often. maybe twice a year. But after the two days at Watkins Glenn, there's no way I won't be tracking it. Just too much fun and excitement!

The 335i is much more tail happy than my TTQC. Especially without stability control on, you will have to be a much better driver to track this car.
