Not So Happy New Year...

I went to a NYE party at a large venue in the city... I peaced out at around 2am... When i got back to my car this is what i found... <br>

Some f*ck broke into my car and stole my girlfriends purse. Happy New Year to us! haha. I even parked on a busy street about a block away from the venue... how someone got away with this i have no idea... Great way to bring in the new year huh?

Update: The police called my girlfriend back and told her that some lady found her purse... Now we are just hoping they left all the important stuff...

Sorry to hear. They probably just took the cash and maybe credit cards. I hope the first thing she did was cancel them. This is why I ALWAYS hide or put any items in the trunk. Out of sight, out of mind. I hope it all turns out well. Hopefully they didnt hurt the car, other than the window being broken.

Thats most of the reason why I ask my friends to drive when we go out weekending...

You get some drunk jealous people, and they will do crap like that to your car. You also can come across some drunk drivers and they can hit your car. So I let other people drive in most cases...

Wink

Don't you wish you could catch the bastards that did that? I don't believe in vigilantism but in this case, a nice sock full of quarters to the side of the head would teach them a lesson. Probably not though, huh!!
I haven't gotten my 328i yet, delivery scheduled for 1-26, but this kind of thing drives me crazy. Keep the faith brother. They will get theirs. Maybe not in this life but, they will get theirs....

sorry to hear about and see the damage.
My car got broken into recently, as well. I just wonder if these people think about what their mothers' would say about what they've done.

A day late and a few dollars short. Good advice that everyone should heed.

Sometimes I leave my car door unlocked and put a club on the steering wheel. That way the low lifes can search the car, find nothing, and still be prevented from stealing the car. This is not 100% guaranteed, but the club seems to dissuade folks who would rather have easier pickens.

Sorry about the breakin. A suggestion - call the credit bureaus and put a "victim's statement" to the effect thtat no credit shoul;d be granted without consulting the gf because of potential fraudulent credit applicaitons...

My wallet was stolen a few years back and 3 weeks later JC penney called me and asked where is their payment. These bastards applied over 20 credit cards in my name and I had to spend about 3 years cleaning up my credit reports. Not fun.

I feel for you bro! There are just stupid, jealous, or drunk (maybe all 3) people roaming the streets. Don't be afraid to drive it because they are too ignorant to appreciate our nice rides.

Just be smart and throw any loose items in the trunk and limo tint the car.... joking on the last part (or am I?)

Oww that hurts. Sorry to see this done to your car. Same thing happened to my brother and the glass also scratched his leather. I hope it didn't scratch yours. But you are lucky that he didn't go for your radar detector too...

Very sorry to hear.

I also learned the hard way to never ever leave ANYTHING visible in a parked car. Even CD's, sunglasses or pieces of paper attract attention.

Do you often leave valuables visible in the car? If so you're lucky you made it this far. I don't know any cities that won't get your window smashed in a short amount of time if someone can make a quick buck doing it.

Been there man. They tried to pry out my factory stereo and just mangled my dash... on a Sunday afternoon in front of my house.

Get it detailed (interior) before you have the glass replaced. The glass fragments & shards will do a number on you upholstery and stitching if they arent removed carefully, and it wasn't as easy as I thought to get it all out. I ended up habving it done by a pro as lots of glass debris was very hard to get to with the vac head. Nasty stuff, sorry to hear of your trouble.

+1 Do not leave anything visible in the car..... Once my girlfriend left her empty purse in my car and I learned it the hard way..... Bastards did not know it was empty & broke into the car and stole an empty purse..... Since that day I don't even leave my cell phone charger visible in the car.... Good luck.
