was meant to be tomorrow then it got put back for delivery thursday, they say they can turn it around same day so im hoping to pick it up thursday evening. But we'll see!

Black sapphire, red coral interior with nav etc etc style 230 rims etc

I have the Aero kit sitting here as well so i need to drop that off to get it painted and fitted, but probably wont be for a couple of weeks for that now.

Excellent!

When I was picking up my car the dealer had a sapphire black 335i with the red coral and 19" wheels and it looked fab. Owning a car with a red leather interior is definitely something I intend to do at some point in the future.

The 335i sounds amazing also.

mine is the 335d. I drove both many times and even had the 335i as a loaner for a bit but much preferred the diesel.

I would never have even considered a car with red interior before but when i saw it in the flesh i just fell in love with it. Bit pimpy but what the hell

I never even considered a black car either because i do alot of miles and its a bitch to keep clean, also the stone chips are a bitch as well. But again when i saw the black i just had to have it.

I dont think i have ever been so excited about anything in my life! Even though its my second one in 3 months! this time round im even more excited than the first, i guess its because i know what to expect this time. And unlike most things you buy, this baby exceeds expectations by far in reality.

I actually had a test drive in a 335i (auto) and was really amazed with it, especially the paddles for changing gear, but not sure if I would use them on a daily basis. I do fairly low mileage so for me the 325i made the most sense. The 335d only comes in auto does it not?

I did the 'black' thing a few years ago - with a Panther Black (metallic) Ford Puma. When clean it looked amazing, but unfortunately showed up every mark on the paintwork. After that I said I would never buy black again

... but its one of those things thats good to say you've done in life (like the pimp red interior I guess

)

yeh the 335d only comes with the auto box, because apparently the MT cant handle the torque!

i would only have ever got auto anyway, i really cant be bothered changing gear

i use the paddles quite alot surprisingly. mainly for when i want to drive like a loon, which is regular occurence for me. They are great fun, kinda make it like your in some computer game or something, the gear change is really quick as well.

Last couple of weeks i have had a 3 series cabriolet and the thing i miss most is the auto gearbox!

oh and the roof

If you drive an auto for a long time... (not just a test drive), is it not a bit odd getting back into a manual car and driving it??

No not at all. I wondered if i would remember how to drive a manual as well after my first auto. However even after months of not touching a manual you just jump in like it was only yesterday when you last drove one. Sometimes, admitedly i forget to push the clutch in on the first halt. But other than that its like riding a bike.

I would recomend a BMW auto to anyone. On other manufacturers i dont think id bother, but the BMW ones are sublime. With the steptronic you can always get that "manual" feeling as well if you want. Even if there is no clutch. Once you have one you never go back i would guess.

I know the Audi DSG is thought of as one of the best 'autos' you can get, although technically its not quite an auto, as its a manual underneath i think? Of course BMW have SMG as well, which is probably more similar to DSG.
