Question Why does BMW have weird options combination?

For example, why in the Cold Package for the 328i and 335i can you get the headlight washers, but not on the 328xi? (Even though the book says you can?)

My dad's 5 series wagon needs to have the dealer turn on the daytime running lights, but on my previous 325i that can be done by the center stalk?

Somethings like this just do not make sense?

The headlight washers are standard on the 328xi.

better yet, my wife bought a new X3...ordered sport package...not available in three colors... ready:

Highland green: historical English racing color
Monaco blue: historical french racing color
Flamenco red: historical italian racing color

Apparently Germany doesn't want certain colored cars going too fast.

And my order sheet from the dealer only lists heated front seats and folding rear seats as included in this option. Wouldn't the washers also be listed on the dealer order sheet?

The Edmunds configurator is one of the worst ones out there. It doesn't know about packages. So, for example, you can configure a car with the cold weather package plus heated seats, or Premium Package plus leather and BMW Assist.

I just configured a car that DOES have shift paddles, but DOESN'T have the Steptronic auto trans. I configured my own car (by checking all the options individually as well as in the packages), and the pricing was off by about $3k.

Couldn't help but notice your 1/8/07 date of the ship coming in...looks like you're roughly 2 wks. away from getting your new ride. And you have a M5 as well? SWEET! Guess you'll have a happy New Year without anyone saying it....
