BMW NA X1 Pricing

Probably at this point, all we can do is guess where the X1 will be priced when it finally gets launched in the USA.

So, for amusement until we get actual #'s, here's a poll and discussion of where we think the MRSP of an X1 will be.

Here's the parameters:

The current X3 (with no options) has an MSRP of $39725 including destination and handling. For this exercise, since the current X3 is only offered with 1 engine choice, let's assume the same for the X1.

So, where do you think the MSRP of a base X1 will be priced?

Given those parameters. I think it will be priced in line with the current E91 328 Xdrive.

I'm thinking it will start around $34k-$35k base price. I hope so at least. Then again i can also see it starting around $38k with the 3.0 engine.

Found this but don't know how accurate it is:

Depends on what engines will be available in the USA but the price mentioned in the article might be fairly accurate. In the UK the X1 is about $4k (£2.5k) cheaper than a similar 3-series saloon and about $5k cheaper than the estate, which would probably be a better comparison.

The article states:
"The only confirmed X1 model is the xDrive28i, which will feature a 3.0-liter inline-six engine. It is expected to come standard with BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system and new Dynamic Performance Control system."

I'd be thrilled if the X1 outfitted like this comes in $5K less than the E91. I just wish it was here already because I'm currently looking at alternatives like the Audi Q5 & Volvo XC60....but neither are BMW's

Fortunately, I don't have an immediate need to replace my E92...

This article suggests that the launch model will be the 3.0l but that others will follow:

http://carautotransport.wordpress.co...11-u-s-launch/

Saying that, there are many others, each one with his own "view" of whats going to be available in the USA. I would be surprised though if some of the more powerful diesels don't eventually make it as the sedan diesels have been quite successful there.

In the UK I would say that the Q5 and XC60 are rather competitors of the X3, in price and size. The X1 competes with the VW Tiguan, Nissan Qashqai, Honda CRV and Toyota RAV.

Good find!

In the US, the new X3 will be priced way above the Q5 & XC60 (since it already is now) and with it's growing size, will be more suited to the mid-size SAV, rather than the compact ones.

We don't get that model of Nissan here, and don't know if our version is the Rogue.

Having owned VW's, Honda's & Toyota's, I just can't put them in competition with BMW unless I was looking to save thousands of dollars and compromise the driving & ownership experience of a BMW.
