Major Problems with my 335 Coupe

If anyone can help or have some advise, here is my situation:

1300 miles, delivery Oct 19. Several problems so far.

1) Drivers seat (saddle brown leather) turned black on the backrest. Fix: Dealer will re-order seat and replace. Not to happy about it since its not a permanent fix but more a quick fix. I'd rather have all the seats exchanged for black leather (If anyone wants to trade let me know)

2) Headlights vibrate very badly and annoy drivers in front specially POLICE OFFICERS (one warning already after 200 miles). Fix: No fix yet and apparently there will never be a fix since there is a space between the bumper and headlight assembly.

3) Left car parked on friday night in the covered garage in the condominium, went to use the car on sunday and found the windowns and sunroof open all the way. Luckily the car was covered since it rained all weekend. Called BMW NA on monday and they set up an appointment with the regional rep. So far they find it very hard to believe so im waiting for an investigation.

Other than those problems im loving the car. If anyone has had similar problems please let me know.

What the hell? Do you mean the headlight assembly vibrates? Or is it the self adjusting lights? That seems pretty bizarre...

On the seat on the lower part of the backrest there is a black mark im not sure if its coming from the pants that i wear, and if thats the case its very weird b/c i have had cinnamon leather on e46 m3 and it never happened. On the e92 it happened when the car was about 200 miles.

As far as the headlights go its not the self leveling or adaptive headlights im complaining about, the whole headlamp assembly rattles as you are driving in barely uneven roads.

If the headlight assembly is rattling...

there is clearly a problem that I imagine would be easy to fix.

I am aware of that and this wasnt the issue with this particular glitch. We actually held the button while at the bmw center and even then the windows and sunroof did not open. This was a function on the CA cars and e46 models.

umm..not sure if the headlights vibrate on un-even surfaces but there is certainly a gap/space between the light and the bumper. I posted a message when I got the car about that - no one really paid much attention though. Not sure if due to this gap, the headlights actually move?? I'd guess these lights should be bolted/affixed pretty strong given the sport suspention on these cars is relatively stiff (vs. non BMW cars - like Lexus etc)

Q: Did you try moving the lights physically to see if there is some movement there?

The leather was probably stained by a belt. I see it *all the time*, like literally, 4 or 5 times a week on cars I clean. It cleans right off with a leather cleaner.

Re. 2) I noticed the same thing when i got the car. It's normal to shake to protect the lights. There are past topics by others on this. I noticed it more when new and less now so maybe it gets better or you get use to it.

Re. 3) Did you check to see if someone broke into your car? Check your door key lock to see if someone did. I've had it happen. Only other way, normally, would be holding the button down on the remote as others said.

Well, I'd keep the belts off in the future, regardless.

Ok, so your pants made a mark on the seat, on-coming traffic doesnt like your adaptive xenon lights, and you accidently held down the unlock button on the key while the car was parked (they have good range), and you call those Major Problems?

I think you need to RTFM... and get some new pants

1. Any light color leather would have done the same thing
2. The lights are suspended to protect them from bumps. And they are self-leveling and aiming with your driving (adaptive) so cars see it as flashing sometimes... they will get over it. I have never noticed my lights shaking.
3. The window thing is common, search for it, lots of people have this happen, the unlock button gets held down in your pocket, or somewhere. Its not a glitch, its a feature.

Sorry to burst you bubble, but even with those things ... hold the "Unlock" button the the Fob and the Windows and sunroof opens.

No Bobbling of headlights here and god know we have bumpy roads in Canada + now with winter ... even worst. I did notice that on a 2006 E90 I test drove & I told the the C.A. that if my car does that ... I want him to know in advance that I won't tolerate it

I guess that worked, as the car has been f'n great so far
