yeah, u can do peel-outs on Alton between Jamboree and Culver. Its a scenic drive between there, and you should go like 100mph.

Yeah, the north 5 or 405 around 7-9 AM is pretty cool too, barely any cars and the CHP is never there...I would suggest a minimum 100 mph on those stretches as well.

A nice run with a caravan of cars would be Ortega Hwy. You can go through the windy canyon and end up at the 15 fwy.

Ortega is always crowded with commuters...try Santiago Canyon instead. Take El Toro Rd. north until it becomes the canyon. There's 12 or 13 miles of long sweeping high-speed turns before you hit the 241/261 and Jamboree. For a tighter canyon run, try Live Oak or Silverado Canyon, which is right off Santiago Canyon.

Hey Derrick,

Take Old El Toro to Irvine Lake then either down Santiago Canyon or Jamboree west bound down to Irvine. Nice and long. Irvine Blvd b/w Jeffrey and Bake was the best crusing area before the advent of Woodbury.

Yeah I was wondering about that, think the speed limit is like 40mph.

Spots in Irvine:
  • Jamboree Rd from the 5 to Barranca, actually is a freeway for that section
  • Jamboree Rd from Tustin Ranch Rd until Canyon View (used to be less congested)
  • Santiago Canyon Rd until Live Oak Canyon Rd (as has been mentioned a few times already, end it at Cook's Corner for some good grub)
  • Portola Pkwy from Jamboree Rd until it dead ends at the 241 toll road
  • Irvine Blvd from Sand Canyon Ave to Alton Pkwy (police station near Alton Pkwy)
  • Laguna Canyon Rd from the 405 until the 73 tollroad

To be honest. Irvine is a terrible place to cruise unless you fall within the speed limit. Too many cops with nothing else to do other than to hand speeding tickets. Often times, when people get pulled over by one officer (in a car/motorcycle) a backup cop arrives. You then have to deal with the good cop bad cop motif and the whole time in your head you're thinking "damn, I just went over the speed limit by 5mph." YOU'RE A CRIMINAL... A FREAKIN' CRIMINAL! ~ Irvine PD. Happened to me more than once as well as family members.

The boarder that rents a room from me got a ticket a year ago for exhibition of speed. ...the poor sap disengaged his clutch too quickly in his early y2k manual Corolla and peeled his front tires a bit.
