X5 + M3 = best of both worlds.....

M5 by itself.....lots of fun in the summer, not nearly as much in the winter.

Go for the combo!

I love the M5, but...

The new X5 is hot as hell, and the M3 is going to be nutty fast... plus you'll have 2 cars instead of 1, including one with loads of space and AWD.

If I had unlimited funds I would have an M5 and an X5.... but the M3/X5 is probably the next best thing.

well i dont know about x5 and e92 m3... i think the m3 would be a great weekend getaway car... not sure about the x5 for daily driving though... would prefer something with better mileage.

--voted x5 and e92 m3 tho

hehehe. I never vote in the polls on this site but I couldn't resist .

My girlfriend and I always talk about which cars we'd take over the other. Sometimes realistic sometimes fantasy. We both are in love with M5 but would take X5 + M3. We're not talking an X5 + e92 335i, although I would still take that over the M5. We're talking about X5 + e92 "M3". Practical side of course plays a role in my decision. But I also think it would keep things a bit more interesting too. Especially since you will not be picking up both at the same time (M3 later down the road). Having the X5 doesn't mean it has to be the daily driver. It just means you can choose when/where you want to drive the M.

I think Santa skipped my house this year. It's 4:50 am. Merry Xmas. I'm going to dream of X5 + M3 now. g'nite ('mornin).

hkwallace,
Don't get suckered in by dealer. Remind yourself why you originally chose what you wanted. Then you make best decision for yourself in the end.

Of course one has unlimited funds if getting an M5 and an X5 at the same time. Even the avg. bonus on Wall St., which is 136,500 this Dec., doesn't cover both those cars. What I do find odd is turning to a forum like this to ask if one should pull the trigger on a 87k car. That's odd.

My g/f jokes about getting an X3 and doing the PCD in SC. I tell her that's a nice fantasy (imagine fantasizing about an X3), but we don't need that lifestyle (have to have multiple expensive cars in the garage). Rather than spend that money on the X3, I'd rather have the money to pay the property tax for 2 yrs. instead, and slum it with a Honda or Toyota car-based SUV.

Voted for the combo, can I get fries with that?

Look like the M3 will be offered in a saloon, and I have to assume that 400hp will be enough (that was an M5 too, not too long ago)

Unless you want the 5er badge....

The E70 is the best redesign BMW has done in recent years putting the Z4 at second.

Get the 3.0 sport and 335.
