Funny how some BMW drivers are...
No surprises, but I wanted to share a couple of funny incidents. I was driving my mom's Corrolla today and I saw 2 e90's. The first one was tailing me then got in front to cut me off. I see him at the stop light, he gave me a smirk with his nose up. Next stop light, I pulled my 3er key fob out and showed it to him, he seemed surprised and slightly disgusted and took off.
The second one I saw was pacing me on the freeway in the next lane over from me going tho the city. She caught me looking at her car waiting to pay the bridge toll and gave me a thumbs up! It was a nice thumbs up and then I got my key to show her and she rolled down her window and shouted AWESOME!! Danny

I have many friends who have daily *beaters* for the commute so I never judge someone because they are in a junky car, unless they are jerks. You never know the other car is a z06. LOL. Danny

Got a new job last year, the timing was such that on the first day of work my 330i was at the dealer getting mirror motors fixed, it was a really shitty day and I don't take my m3 out on crappy days unless there is a track or auto-x event. Was driving my dads acura that day. At the parking lot of my new job there was a very cocky weird looking dude with an e90 walking all proud and feeling very special. Next day it was nice and sunny so I took the m3 to work. He saw the car and looked slightly less pround and now a little more curious. The day after that took the 330i to work, he looked very very curious and not at all proud. After a few months my g-friend picked me up at work in her 323i and at that point I think the guys ego was crushed.
The point is... don't judge people based on their possesions. My dad's friend just sold his company for 23 million dollars... he drives a saturn. There is nothing wrong with feeling proud of your achievements but there is a difference between that and feeling better than the rest simply because of your achievements. I just thought this whole story was funny. And now every time I get a little cocky I always remember this story.

My uncles have nice cars, one of them has a '73 911 RS, a '73 Targa, a Pantera, a 6 liter benze, etc...but drives an old datsun 510 to his resturant or his '84 blazer, lol.

Funny to me, and let me tell you what happened on Friday regarding a Corrolla...
A "friend" was rolling on this 6-lane suburban divided highway with many stop lights. A STi rolled up next to him, gave him a thumbs up, and wanted to play. So, off "they" go, they both shut it down around 70ish and the 335i had more than a car length on him. I expected the 335 to get beat to around 30 or so but driver or what, the 335 had him the whole time rather easily... So the STi gives my friend another thumbs up, my friend returns the salute, and he turns off at the next stoplight. Well, my friend did not know that some guy in a blue Corrolla was watching and trailing them the whole time. Another couple of stoplights later, he's next to my friend on the left. He of course doesn't pay attention to the Toyota, not because he's trying to be a snob just there were obviously no threats in the stoplight war around him. In fact, my friend was playing with his iPod. Then, the light turns green, and the Corrolla shoots out like it was his turn to race! My friend just watched him go off in the distance as he found the song he was looking for |
