Coupe is lighter ~22lbs, have more rigid chassis - it's definately faster than sedan

We have had at least 20 of these threads. Please next time.
To answer your question, COUPE if you don't need the extra space for kids, work stuff etc. |

Obviously there is no speed difference between the 2... car and driver just got different numbers on different cars, other mags have gotten the same numbers on both, or faster on the coupe. They are the same engine, and the coupe is only slightly lighter. Although the coupe is supposedly more "rigid", and most people consider the coupe more "sporty".
The sedan has nothing in it to make it "faster", obviously... it was just 2 different tests, 2 different cars, 2 different days, and they squeeked a .1 better 0-60 out of one of them... nothing to do with how many doors it had. |

IMHO coupe looks nicer. Performance is the same. If you need 4 doors... well.... then you need 4 doors. Not much else to it then that.

lol... like drdomer said... two doors or four doors... take your pick. your getting the same engine and the difference weight wise isnt that significant... however if ur plannin on hitting the twisties or mountains then take the coupe which supposedly has the better suspension.

This pretty much something only you can answer. Neither is better than the other, and they are EXTREMELY similar as far as performance. I went with the coupe because I'm a single and am not transporting more than 2 people very often (and when I do, it's not me who has to sit in the back ). If you are transporting people very often, use your back seat a lot (for people or loading things), and like the looks of the sedan, go for the sedan. If you like the sportiness of the coupe and don't mind sacrificing the 5th seat and acessibility, go with the coupe. I just went with my heart on this one.....

Coupe -- my son has *no* problems getting in the back seat, and once there fits nicely. If I had older children (teens too young to drive) I'd look to sedan, but otherwise coupe 100%. If you have more than adult kids to drive around regularly, I wouldn't look at a 3-series at all.

I wanted the coupe last year but was unwilling to wait the additional 10 months and so got the sedan. I looked at a 335i coupe and was appalled at how little legroom there was in the back for an adult. It would be fine for kids under 10 years of age. And I agree with other posters that the coupe looks better. But it's really up to you in deciding which is best for you and your circumstances.

The coupe comes with a standard sport suspension, thus adding the sport package to to the coupe does nothing for the suspension and is something like $1200. The sedan comes with a milder suspension setup and by adding sport package, it upgrades suspension to be the exact same setup as the coupe, for a higher price... it's $1,600. The increase of $400 pays for the additional components.
I drove the coupe on a L O N G test drive without the sales agent. Then went back and too the sedan out for a short run. The only difference is back seat, and looks. I could not get comfortable in the back seat of the coupe and I'm only 6'. Now we know the driver will never ride in the back seat, but if I'm paying 45g for a car, you better damn well belive whomever is going to sit in the back is going to be comfortable, and I am not going to get out of the car everytime someone wants to get in or out... Plus, I'm not sold on the coupes looks from the rear....the sedan has the balanced look, plus you could say your 4 door sport sedan has 300hp. Think of the looks on the kids faces when you pass them in their rice rockets... Everyone has their own opinions, go drive them both and look at your needs. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Sedan!
I believe I'm one of the minority that actually prefers the look of the sedan over the coupe, forgetting about personal cirsumstance and need for a second. Bottom line, you can't go wrong with either! Good luck!

We cannot help you much on this one. The coupe and sedan w/ ZSP are effectively identical. Boils down to personal choice, almost like choosing a color. I have kids, so the sedan was a no-brainer.
