Shop torqued wheels to 100ft/lbs should I be concerned?
So I got my new wheels installed last week. I asked the service rep what they torqued the wheels to and he said 100. I didn't say that it was not proper for this car but after I got her home I promptly loosened and torqued to 88.
Should I be concerned? |

not at all. Better tight than loose. Make sure you torque them in a star pattern... re torque them in a week they should loosen up slightly with some driving. but 12ft/lbs on lugs is not going to snap or break anything...

Nah, like has been said, nothing at all to worry about. Generally 100lbs-ish is a good ballpark for passenger cars. Yeah, 88 may be the prescribed number for ours, but that extra 10-12 lbs won't hurt anything at all. To repeat above, better a bit tight than loose.
