Solution for getting loose change out from behind ash tray.
Hello all,
After trying to fish out the loose change that fell behind the ash tray, I figured out a solution. And by the way, I know that you can remove the ash tray dish... what I'm talking about is the small space behind the fixed part of the ash tray compartment, where the pivoting lid folds back. You can vacuum it out with a high-powered vacuum cleaner. I went to a "self-serve" car wash - the kind with a vacuum station. They have a flat / slot-shaped "nozzle" attachment on the end of the hose that was suited perfectly for the job. I literally held the nozzle over the small slot, and heard three or four "pinging" noises as the coins hit the hose on the way up. After trying to fish the coins out for over half an hour, can you imagine how giddy I was at how immediately the coins were expunged!? What a relief! Now I have to figure out a better way / place to store change in the future! Btw, has anyone else tried this? |

Were you able to get the coins out of the vacuum? If you could, great. If you couldn't, that sucks.

No, since it was a vacuum-station at the car wash. There were probably 4 coins stuck behind the ash tray... definitely not more that a dollar's worth of coins, so I was ok with it. (By the way, the price to use the station was already $1.00). I might have paid even more just to get those rattling coins outta there!
