Question about racing/tracking your 335i and being tall

Maybe an odd question... But how many of you have actually raced your 335i on a course? Or even at the 1/4 mile?

My question is regarding how you fit with a helmet on. I've raced both Mustangs and Corvettes without much issue, but in the 335 I have a problem that I can "squat" down far enough and still be comfortable. I can sit with my helmet inside the sunroof indentation (under the glass basically) but not sitting straight up. And this is having the seat all the way down.

Any ideas or suggestions from those with this issue? By the way, I'm about 6'3" and 190lbs and I think longer in the leg than torso.

Tried that, still hits the roof. Slouching would be HORRIBLE for track day. Id have to hit the chiro and massage after! Anyone else actually figured out how to run this at the track if you're taller?

Corvette is tighter than 335

I am 6 foot 5 inches... and I have about 2 inches of headroom in a comfortable position.... I got a bit more room out of deflating the lumbar, and slightly tilting the front of the seat up, which keeps your butt towards the back of the pad.

Seriously, that may run you less than 2K... I am considering it myself. You would need teh roof and headliner, and then a body shop your trust to do an AWESOME job.

If you consider that seats would run at least 3K and be non power, not heated, etc. This does not seem like a crazy idea after all.

Proper thing for BMW NA would be to offer this car without the sunroof. But, they are not willing to do that.

I'm 6'1", 235lbs, and have a long torso. I actually sit pretty close to the wheel, having learned that I get better control that way. My head wasn't touching with the helmet on, although I probably didn't have more than an inch or so clearance. I also put the rear of the seat as low as it will go, the front of the seat higher, and the back raked a bit, approximating the shape of a true racing seat. This probably helps with headroom due to the rake of the seat.
