Round Tires for Aggressive Offset

Hey guys....so just ordered some Advans RS-D's in an aggressive offset and wanted some opinions on tire options.

I searched for choices and most people are going with either Toyo T1-R's or Falken FK452's. (I'm currently running the Falkens on my VMR's- Cheap tires and I got what I paid for.)

Wheels
19 x 8.5 et 30
19 x 9.5 et 25

Car
2009 E92 335 on H&R Sport Springs (Fenders not yet rolled)

So question is what do I go for? I like the strectched look so I am going to either run a 235/35/19 front or a 225/35/19 (any opinions?) and a 265/30/19 rear.

Are the the only tires that have the rounded sidewall T1-R's and FK452's and if so, I am really not liking the Falkens (hard tire, bad grip, NOISY!) but how much better are the T1-R's for $60 more a tire?

I dont mind rolling the rears but dont want to touch the fronts.

The T1-Rs round off the most and lighter in weight. If you want a stretched look I'd suggest going with a skinnier setup. Possibly 225/35 and 255/30

To me the Toyo looks more rounded than the Falken.

A 255 on a 9.5 and 235 on 8.5 is hardly a stretch, youll want wider wheels and worry less on low offsets.

You might want to check out the following choices:

- Toyo T1-R
- Falken FK-452
- Nitto Invo
- Hankook Ventus V12 Evo

All of which have round sidewall profiles. Also, we have a coworker here that's running 235/35/19 (Front) and 265/30/19 (Rear) Toyo T1-Rs on 19" Advan RS Wheels sized 19x8.5 (Front) and 19x9.5 (Rear)

Thanks for the suggestions.

It looks like I'll give the T1-R's a try, and if they are lighter too (which I didn't know) then that will justify the slightly higher price tag.

I heard the grip is better than FK452's but how about noise and treadlife? Anybody compared both tires?

I had both T1Rs and FK452s and the Toyos are somewhat rounder than Falkens. I have seen Invos and they are just about as round as Toyos.

i've got FK452s coming in today for my rear wheels. i'm rubbing pretty bad with the 265/30(these are Generals)...even with rolled fenders. so i went with a 245/35 for a lil bit of a stretched look. i honestly have no idea how this is gonna look.

Yea thats a new one for me. I've heard of stretching the diameter out but wont the upsize in the wall height offset the stretch? Well....i guess not since you are going 20mm thinner and 5mm higher? My heads hurts from the math.

You're in VA?....who do you use to install your tires? I will need a good shop when my new wheels come in. I heard Curry's are gentle on $ wheels.

yeah i really didn't want to go down in tire size...i really wanted to run a 275. but after reverse mounting the face on my LM's...i started to rub pretty bad(car sits pretty low too). i look the look of the wheel too much to go back...so i figure'd i'd try to stretch the tire a lil bit.

i live down here in va beach...i'm assuming you're in NOVA. there's a little tire/wheel repair place right down the street from me that i'll probably have do the work...they're pretty reputable.

why would you want to run stretched tires on wheels sizes so conservative?

because my only other option is to try to pull the fender a little more...and i don't want to do that. well i guess my other option would be to put the wheel back together the way it was...but i like it better with the bigger lip. i don't anticipate it looking that stretched...245 on a 9.5 isn't really that stretched is it? its an honest question because i have no experience with this type of stuff.

any other suggestions...?

245 on a 9.5" is not stretched much. It will be fine as long as you're low.

Falken Ziex Ze-512s are the best for stretching.

The Toyo's are more narrow have a very round shoulder.

The Falkens run bulky but with a tapered shoulder.
