what year? if 2006-2008, start off with some matte black grilles, blacklines, and ambergones. if 2009+, painted reflectors and matte black grilles are a good start.

also look at the lighting subforum if you're into changing out your angel eyes if you have xenons and your fogs.

what kind of body mod are you looking for? front lip, spoilers, diffusers, whole bumpers?

if you have the funds, i'd recommend going straight for the mtech front/rear bumpers instead of toying with add-on front lips and diffusers for the stock bumpers. pm paulbailey@ltbmw for a quote. if you're local to el monte, you can go straight to ltbmw to check out parts in person.

if you're looking for a front lip to start off with, the hartge and hamann lips are a popular choice. people tend to stay away from the ac schnitzer lip.

on the other hand, the ac schnitzer roof spoiler is a popular choice along with the m3 trunk spoiler if you want a subtle look. if you want a more agressive styled trunk, check out the csl trunk which kicks up. there are both add-on spoilers and whole trunk replacements.

again, matte black kidney grilles and blackline tail lights are popular first mods which make a big difference. also, since you're an e90, alot of people vinyl wrap or paint the silver rods on the bottom of your front bumper black for an aggressive look. another popular inexpensive mod is cf bmw roundels to replace the white and blue.

hope this helped. don't hesitate to PM me if you have anymore questions about wheels/suspension/lighting/etc. have fun modding!

Welcome to E90post and let the modding begin! Depending on modifications it really looks like what your goals are for the car. Are you more focused on cosmetic mods or more geared towards performance?

Cosmetic:
Matte Black Grill
Vitex Amber Gones
Blackline Tail Lights

Performance:
BMS Powerbox
AFE Intake
Remus Exhaust

Those are just some suggestions and have been the most popular starting mods for a lot of members. Shoot me over a PM if you have any questions. We are located in Brea, CA so were definitely local to you as well

Cosmetics wise, wheels/lowering make the biggest difference IMO at first.

Blacklines (tailights) are a must on that car
